Bitcoin holdings decreased by 48%, Empery Digital sells 1,400 BTC to pivot to AI data centers
Bitcoin reserve company Empery Digital disclosed it has sold 1,400 BTC over the past two months, with an average selling price of $62,200, cashing out approximately $87.1 million. The proceeds are intended for investment in AI data center projects and debt repayment. Specifically, part of the funds were used to acquire a 25% equity stake in an AI data center project, while another $10 million was used to repay outstanding debts. Following this sale, Empery Digital's Bitcoin holdings decreased by 48%, and it currently holds 1,514 BTC, valued at approximately $97 million at current prices. EMPD shares initially rose 4.2% in early trading, before closing up 1.58%.
