According to Chaoxiang Research, Morgan Stanley’s September 4 research report notes that Tesla’s Cybercab has officially launched autonomous ride-hailing services to the public in Austin. Users can book either the Cybercab (two-seater) or the Model Y (four-seater) through the Robotaxi app. Texas DMV data shows 45 Cybercabs are now registered, up from just 7 in the days preceding the launch event. Tesla’s mileage driven under unsupervised autonomy has exceeded 1 million miles, surging over 160% from the 380,000 miles logged in Q2. The Cybercab is projected to sell for under $30,000, with operating costs per mile below $0.20, and will feature wireless inductive charging. Morgan Stanley maintains a neutral rating on the stock with a $400 price target, implying roughly 6% upside from current levels.
