According to Bloomberg, global prediction market platform Polymarket has appointed a representative in Japan and is actively lobbying to legalize prediction markets, with the goal of obtaining authorization from the Japanese government by 2030. Sources familiar with the matter said Polymarket views Japan as an untapped large commercial opportunity, though related plans have not yet been made public.
