Citadel Securities President States: Company May Enter Prediction Markets, Focusing on Geopolitical Hedging Rather Than Sports Events

According to The Block, Jim Esposito, President of Citadel Securities, stated on Thursday at the Semafor World Economic Forum in Washington, D.C., that the firm is “fully capable” of providing liquidity to prediction markets—but explicitly expressed no interest in sports-event contracts. Instead, he emphasized the value of prediction markets for hedging geopolitical risks, citing the U.S. midterm elections this November as “one of the greatest risks facing investors’ portfolios.” Esposito noted that as platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket continue to grow rapidly, the prediction market is poised for sustained expansion—naturally drawing Citadel Securities into the space. Notably, Zhao Peng, CEO of Citadel Securities, participated last year in Kalshi’s $185 million funding round.

Forbes’ latest estimate: Trump’s net worth reaches $6.5 billion, up ~60% from before his return to the White House

According to a March 2026 report by Forbes journalists Dan Alexander and Kyle Khan-Mullins, Forbes’ latest estimate places Donald Trump’s net worth at approximately $6.5 billion—up roughly $1.4 billion over the past year. This growth stems primarily from four areas: (1) cryptocurrency-related ventures contributed about $1.8 billion in total, including memecoins, World Liberty Financial tokens, and the stablecoin USD1; (2) legal victories eliminated approximately $500 million in debt; (3) overseas licensing operations appreciated by around $400 million, driven by developers across multiple countries rushing to partner with a sitting U.S. president; and (4) golf clubs and resorts—including Mar-a-Lago—saw their combined valuation rise to roughly $1.5 billion. Offsetting this growth was a decline of about $1.3 billion in the valuation of Trump Media, the parent company of Truth Social, which generated only $3.7 million in revenue in 2025 while posting a net loss of $712 million. Forbes notes that, as much of Trump’s second term remains ahead, his wealth may continue to grow.

KAIO launches native token KAIO: total supply of 10 billion, community and liquidity incentives account for 37.5%

, RWA tokenization protocol KAIO announced on X platform the launch of its native token KAIO, and simultaneously established the KAIO Foundation as the governance and operational body under the ecosystem chain, responsible for protocol governance, treasury management, and ecosystem development, working alongside KAIO Labs to advance core infrastructure and product innovation. KAIO is positioned as an open infrastructure protocol for institutional-grade Real World Assets (RWA), dedicated to bridging traditional finance and DeFi to build a compliant, auditable, cross-chain tokenized asset network. The platform has currently listed 5 tier-1 institutional funds, covering managers such as BlackRock, Brevan Howard, and Hamilton Lane, with approximately $100 million in TVL deployed across 10+ blockchain networks. In terms of tokenomics, KAIO has a total supply of 10 billion tokens, with community and liquidity incentives accounting for 37.5%, making it the largest allocation portion; team and early investor tokens are subject to locking and staggered release mechanisms, with zero initial release at TGE, and the foundation allocation accounts for 17%, designated for long-term ecosystem development.

TD Cowen: The Crypto Bill “Clarity for Digital Tokens Act” Faces Five Major Obstacles, Passage Outlook Uncertain

According to The Block, Jaret Seiberg, Managing Director of the Washington Research Group at investment bank TD Cowen, stated that stablecoin yield issues are not the sole obstacle to the passage of the Clarity Act—and cited the following five additional hurdles: 1. A severe shortage of Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) commissioners: only Chairman Michael Selig remains in office, and the process to appoint new commissioners could take several months, while the bill must complete its review by the end of July; 2. Complex regulatory questions surrounding prediction markets—including concerns about insider trading and potential conflicts of interest involving the Trump family—which may prompt Democratic lawmakers to withdraw their support via related amendments; 3. Ongoing controversy surrounding World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency project affiliated with the Trump family, increasing political resistance from Democrats toward supporting the bill; 4. Reports indicating Iran is discussing requiring vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to pay tolls in cryptocurrency—a development that could trigger contentious anti-money laundering (AML) amendments, potentially serving as a “poison pill” for the bill; 5. Risk that the Credit Card Competition Act could be attached to the Clarity Act, jeopardizing the entire bill’s progress. Regarding stablecoin yield issues, Senator Thom Tillis indicated that the Senate Banking Committee will not vote on the bill until as early as May. TD Cowen maintains its assessment that the bill has approximately a one-in-three chance of passing this year, while Galaxy Digital estimates the probability at roughly 50%.

TD Cowen: Crypto Bill Progress Stalled, More Than Just Stablecoin Revenue Disputes

Odaily News Investment bank TD Cowen stated that disagreements surrounding the "CLARITY Act" extend far beyond the issue of stablecoin revenue, with multiple practical obstacles potentially slowing down the legislative process.First, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission is understaffed, currently with only one commissioner in office. Under these circumstances, Congress is unlikely to confidently assign more cryptocurrency regulatory responsibilities to the agency, and filling the personnel vacancies alone would require several months.Second, the issue of prediction markets is heating up. Whether to include them under the bill's regulatory scope, along with potential concerns about insider trading and political conflicts of interest (including controversies related to Trump-affiliated projects), could cause some Democratic lawmakers to oppose the bill.Simultaneously, the ongoing controversy surrounding the Trump family's crypto project, World Liberty Financial, is also increasing the bill's political sensitivity, making bipartisan consensus more difficult to achieve.Geopolitics has also become a variable. Discussions regarding Iran's potential use of cryptocurrency payments are intensifying focus on anti-money laundering provisions and could even lead to the introduction of amendments unfavorable to the industry.Furthermore, some lawmakers are attempting to incorporate the "Credit Card Competition Act" into the bill. If pursued, this could trigger new conflicts of interest, further impeding the overall legislative progress.

Iranian crypto exchange Nobitex has processed at least $2.3 billion in transactions since 2023

According to a Reuters report, Nobitex—the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Iran—has processed at least approximately $2.3 billion in funds via the Tron and BNB Smart Chain networks since 2023. Some of these funds originated from the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), which is under U.S. sanctions, and are linked to other sanctioned entities, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hamas, and Hezbollah. Data from blockchain analytics firms Arkham and Elliptic, along with insights from multiple analysts, indicate that related transactions on Tron alone exceeded $2 billion, while those on BNB Smart Chain totaled approximately $317 million; tens of millions of dollars continued flowing even after hostilities erupted. The report notes that Tron was founded by Justin Sun, and BNB Smart Chain was launched by Binance; both blockchains intersect financially and governance-wise with World Liberty Financial—a crypto project led by Donald Trump. Since its founding in 2018, Nobitex’s sanctioned-related transactions have cumulatively amounted to at least approximately $366 million.

WorldCoin-linked wallet deposits 4.63 million WLD to Binance, incurring an $8.53 million loss

According to on-chain analyst Onchain Lens (@OnchainLens), a wallet associated with the WorldCoin team or its investors deposited 4.63 million WLD (approximately $1.25 million) into Binance. The wallet acquired these tokens one year ago for $9.78 million; selling them at the current price would result in an unrealized loss of approximately $8.53 million—representing an 87% unrealized loss.

Standard Chartered: rsETH Security Incident Does Not Alter RWA Growth Thesis, Maintaining $2 Trillion Market Size Forecast

Standard Chartered Bank's latest report indicates that while the theft of KelpDAO's rsETH has severely impacted the DeFi ecosystem, it is insufficient to change the long-term growth trend of Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization. The bank maintains its forecast that the RWA tokenization market will grow from $35 billion in October 2025 to $2 trillion by the end of 2028, with the core drivers remaining the continued expansion of the DeFi banking system and stablecoin liquidity.Geoffrey Kendrick, Head of Digital Assets Research at Standard Chartered, stated that this incident is more like DeFi being "bent, not broken," and could even serve as a significant turning point for the industry to move towards a more resilient structure. Major Security Vulnerability Found in AI Agent Crypto Payment Infrastructure; LLM Router Leads to $500,000 Wallet Theft

According to CoinDesk, researchers from the University of California, Santa Barbara; the University of California, San Diego; blockchain security firm Fuzzland; and World Liberty Financial jointly published a paper warning that “LLM routers”—intermediary services positioned between users and AI models—have become a major threat to cryptocurrency asset security. The researchers discovered that 26 LLM routers are secretly injecting malicious tool calls and stealing user credentials, with one incident resulting in the complete draining of a customer’s cryptocurrency wallet worth $500,000. Additionally, by “poisoning” the router ecosystem, the researchers were able to gain control of approximately 400 downstream hosts within hours. Since sensitive data—including private keys and API credentials—is frequently transmitted in plaintext through these routers, users unknowingly expose their assets to risk. The researchers note that as McKinsey forecasts AI agents will mediate $3–5 trillion in global consumer commerce by 2030—and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao predicts AI agents’ payment volume will be one million times greater than that of humans—the current infrastructure’s security lags far behind the pace of industry development. The “weakest link” risk could thus trigger systemic, cascading crises.

Paradigm-Backed Project Succinct Launches Anti-AI Spoofing Camera App ZCAM

Succinct Labs, backed by Paradigm, has launched the iPhone camera app ZCAM, which uses cryptographic technology to generate a "digital fingerprint" for photos and videos, addressing the risk of forgery brought by AI-generated content (AIGC).ZCAM can sign images at the moment of capture, creating an immutable record and binding the content to the capture device. This allows users to independently verify whether the footage comes from a genuine device, has been tampered with, or was generated by AI.Unlike solutions that rely on AI detection, Succinct chooses to start at the device hardware level, generating a unique cryptographic signature for each shot. The company states that existing AI detection tools are prone to failure, whereas this approach enhances the reliability of authenticity verification.Similar projects include World, which reduces risks by distinguishing between real people and AI identities.

Sun Yuchen Sues World Liberty Financial, Alleging Token Freezing and Voting Rights Deprivation

Sun Yuchen has recently filed a lawsuit against World Liberty Financial in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California to protect his legitimate rights and interests as a $WLFI token holder. Sun stated that the World Liberty project team unilaterally froze all his tokens, stripped him of his voting rights on governance proposals, and threatened to permanently “burn” his tokens—without providing any reasonable explanation. He emphasized that he had repeatedly attempted to resolve the dispute through non-litigious means, but the project team refused to unfreeze his tokens or restore his rights as a token holder, leaving him with no choice but to pursue legal action. Additionally, Sun explicitly opposes World Liberty’s new governance proposal released on April 15. Under this proposal, token holders who do not actively accept its terms will have their tokens locked indefinitely; early purchasers’ tokens are subject to a two-year lock-up period followed by a two-year vesting schedule. As Sun’s tokens remain frozen, he is currently unable to vote on this proposal.
