Bitcoin and Ethereum Accelerate Quantum-Resistant Upgrades, US Invests $300 Million in Quantum Hardware

According to CoinDesk, the U.S. Department of Commerce is allocating up to $100 million each to three quantum computing companies—Rigetti, D-Wave, and Quantinuum—through the CHIPS Act, totaling up to $300 million. The funding will support the expansion of hardware, manufacturing, and error-correction systems, alongside the simultaneous acquisition of minority stakes in all three firms. Meanwhile, Bitcoin and Ethereum developers are accelerating post-quantum cryptography upgrade initiatives. The Ethereum Foundation has set December 2029 as the deadline for foundational-layer quantum-resistant upgrades encompassing the execution, consensus, and data layers. While Bitcoin has no unified timeline, two proposals—BIP-360 (post-quantum output types) and BIP-361 (phasing out ECDSA and Schnorr signatures)—are advancing rapidly, with researchers likewise identifying 2029 as the critical window to complete a trusted migration path.

BIP-110 minority chain restarts, switching to Blake2b and reducing block size to 300 KB

Odaily News: The BIP-110 community restarted the stalled minority fork chain this weekend, which had stalled on August 8. The chain has mined over 800 blocks. Blockchain developer Luke Dashjr switched the proof-of-work algorithm from SHA-256d to Blake2b and reduced the block size to 300 KB.The BIP-110 minority chain forked at Bitcoin block height 961,632, then stalled; at height 961,640, Silent Wave mined a block under the new Blake2b consensus rules. The project is expected to release new software on September 1.The fork chain's asset has not been listed on any centralized exchange, and CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap have not displayed its token code either. BIP-110 developer Chris Guida stated that the chain does not use centralized KYC exchanges, advocating for the acquisition and use of Bitcoin through the trading of goods and services. AI Wealth Wave Continues: Global Billionaire Count Reaches Record High of 3,795

Odaily News According to the latest report released by wealth intelligence firm Altrata, the number of billionaires worldwide surged to a record high in 2025, reaching 3,795—an increase of 8.2%, the strongest growth in five years. Rising stock markets, monetary stimulus policies, and the artificial intelligence (AI) investment boom have driven rapid wealth accumulation among the ultra-rich.The total wealth of billionaires grew by 12.8% in 2025, hitting a record $15.1 trillion—equivalent to nearly a quarter of the total market capitalization of the S&P 500. This marks the third consecutive year of accelerated wealth growth among billionaires, with the average billionaire now holding $4 billion in assets. In reality, however, the median net worth of billionaires stands at nearly $2 billion, reflecting the highly concentrated distribution of wealth among a small group of "super-billionaires."By region, North America saw the fastest growth in billionaire population at 11.6%, outpacing all other regions and reaching 1,337 individuals (35% of the global total). Europe recorded its second consecutive year of growth, with the number of billionaires rising nearly 8% to 1,081 (28% of the global total). Asia ranked as the third-largest region for billionaires, with an increase of 6.5% to 881 individuals. The report noted that since 2023, the AI investment boom has been one of the most significant drivers of global billionaire wealth creation, with its impact becoming even more pronounced in 2025 and the first half of 2026. Investor enthusiasm for generative AI, large language models, cloud computing, and AI software has attracted unprecedented capital, driving substantial market value revaluations across many tech companies. Since billionaire wealth is typically concentrated in corporate equity, founders and major shareholders of the world's leading tech companies have emerged as the biggest beneficiaries of the AI-driven tech stock rally, which has directly translated into significant growth in personal net worth. 1.4 Trillion Dollar Bitcoin Market Mortgage Protocol Hashi Testnet Goes Live, Over 25 Institutions Participate in Testing

Sui Foundation and Mysten Labs launched the Bitcoin mortgage protocol Hashi testnet on July 22, allowing BTC to provide collateral support for on-chain lending and credit markets without being wrapped into synthetic tokens or bridged across chains. Hashi keeps Bitcoin on the Bitcoin network, with deposits secured by a 2-of-2 multi-signature mechanism that requires simultaneous signatures from Hashi's multi-party computation validators and an independent Guardian Layer. Loan terms and collateral positions are recorded on-chain, allowing lenders to view the collateral backing. Over 25 institutional partners are testing Hashi's lending and credit applications, including Bitgo, Cumberland, FalconX, Ledger, Blockdaemon, Bullish, as well as Sui ecosystem lending platforms Navi and Scallop. Wave Digital Assets has committed to advancing a three-year Bitcoin yield bond tokenization plan on Sui after the Hashi mainnet launch. Hashi has not yet announced a mainnet launch date. Sui previously unveiled the Hashi development network phase in March, positioning the protocol as a solution to improve capital efficiency for the approximately 1.4 trillion dollar Bitcoin market.

1confirmation Founder: Next Wave of Crypto User Growth May Be Driven by RWA Tokenization

1confirmation founder Nick Tomaino stated on platform X that bringing real-world assets (RWA) on-chain will become an important direction for driving the next phase of the crypto industry's development and is expected to lead to mass consumer adoption. The core value of RWA tokenization lies in enabling global users to access asset classes that were previously difficult to obtain. "Global accessibility" has always been one of the most attractive features of the crypto industry and a key reason for the success of crypto assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum.Nick Tomaino believes that crypto assets which drive new behaviors and are built on concepts beyond mere monetary value will continue to exist long-term. However, as the market gradually realizes that the cost of creating tokens is close to zero and the model of solely relying on token issuance to drive price appreciation is unsustainable, the growth cycle for many "hype-driven tokens" is ending. The future market will enter a new growth phase driven by tokens backed by real assets. Currently, stablecoins have become the most mature use case for RWAs, and over the next year, the tokenization of assets such as stocks, commodities, government bonds, corporate bonds, and real estate is expected to accelerate further.Nick Tomaino stated that tokenized physical collectibles (such as sports cards and jerseys) could become one of the most promising directions for building and investing in RWAs today. As the speculative-driven token cycle gradually recedes, on-chain assets backed by real value and with practical use cases will become key to attracting the next wave of users into the crypto market.

AI Giants Shake Up Capital Markets: SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic Could Create the Biggest Exit Wave in US VC History

the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and PitchBook recently released the "Venture Monitor" report, noting that after SpaceX's listing and the potential IPOs of Anthropic and OpenAI, the combined value generated by these three companies will reach an unprecedented level. The report states: "With SpaceX going public, combined with the future exits of these companies, the value created will surpass the total exit value of all US VC-backed companies since 2000." The core factor lies in the extremely high valuation expectations of these three companies.SpaceX is currently valued at approximately $1.77 trillion, while Anthropic and OpenAI are also moving towards multi-trillion-dollar enterprise valuations. The market estimates that the combined valuation of the three companies could exceed $4 trillion. This scale far surpasses past large-scale tech IPOs. Data from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shows that total US IPO fundraising last year was about $70 billion, whereas SpaceX's single-company valuation has already reached a level that traditional large-scale IPOs find hard to match. As a once-highly-watched tech IPO case, Uber was valued at around $84 billion when it went public in 2019, which is less than 5% of SpaceX's current valuation. However, the comparison by NVCA and PitchBook is based on "enterprise value created," not the actual cash-out amounts for investors. Additionally, the analysis does not include non-US companies like Alibaba. Furthermore, the value created by already-public companies such as Apple, Google Android, YouTube, and Instagram is not counted in the VC exit statistics. The report points out that over the past 25 years, the US tech market has seen several historic IPOs, including Google in 2004, Tesla in 2010, and Meta in 2012. These companies have since become some of the world's most valuable enterprises. Additionally, companies like LinkedIn, Slack, and WhatsApp were acquired for over $20 billion. The NVCA believes that the current IPO cycle driven by artificial intelligence (AI) could further break these records. The analysis suggests two main reasons driving this trend:First, tech companies are staying private for longer periods than in the past, accumulating higher valuations through prolonged financing and business expansion. If today's Google were in its early stages, it might also choose to go public later to achieve a higher market valuation.Second, the AI industry is highly capital-intensive. Training large AI models requires massive investment, pushing AI companies to continuously raise substantial funds and driving rapid valuation growth.Industry insiders believe that the potential scale of IPOs by SpaceX, Anthropic, and OpenAI will test the capacity of the US capital market. As AI companies transition from the private financing stage to the public market, how trillions of dollars in tech assets flow into the stock market will become a focus for investors. (DigitalToday)

Serenity: Humanoid Robots Drive the “Physical AI” Wave, Potentially Triggering a Multi-Decade Storage Demand Cycle

“White-Haired Stock God” Serenity posted on X, stating that Micron Technology’s CEO’s remarks today are highly noteworthy. He predicts that humanoid robots will drive a storage demand cycle lasting several decades. The memory requirements for humanoid robots could be approximately 10 times those of current L2+ autonomous vehicles, and this wave of demand is expected to begin before the end of this decade. Additionally, Micron’s CEO noted that the growing value of on-device AI—and the release of pent-up device upgrade demand—will drive future growth in the storage market. Although Apple’s Apple Intelligence has so far underperformed, innovations in localized AI and edge AI remain promising. Today, industry leaders—from TSMC’s chairman and Elon Musk to Micron’s CEO—are all identifying humanoid robots as the next major trend, suggesting that “physical AI” may represent the next phase of AI development.

“White-Haired Stock God” Serenity: Continuous-Wave Lasers Could Become Core Bottleneck for AI Optical Interconnects; Related Assets Hold Strategic Value

“White-Haired Stock God” Serenity stated on X platform that he believes the "photonics theme + continuous-wave (CW) laser bottleneck" is one of the most important investment directions in the current AI infrastructure field.Serenity pointed out that the market seems to have overlooked Lumentum's (LITE) market cap growth from about $30 billion in 2024 to over $65 billion, with the core reason being the EML laser supply bottleneck driven by NVIDIA and changes in the optical network architecture. He believes the market is currently experiencing a similar logic, where continuous-wave lasers, 1.6T optical modules, and CPO (Co-Packaged Optics) architecture have become the focus of a new round of industrial upgrades. As NVIDIA continues to sign long-term supply agreements, AMD and other cloud service providers are competing for supply chain resources for continuous-wave lasers and optical components.Serenity cited Goldman Sachs research, stating that the total addressable market (TAM) for the optical communications market could grow to $154 billion by 2028, while the CPO market size is expected to surge from nearly zero to $91 billion within the next two and a half years. He stated that companies including Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI), SIVE, and other continuous-wave laser-related enterprises all hold strategic value, and believes the market may once again replicate the investment opportunities brought by the EML laser supply crunch. He is currently focusing on related assets in the continuous-wave laser supply chain, such as SOI, Tower Semiconductor (TSEM), and SIVE.

BIT: Bitcoin Bear Market Adjustment May Have Entered Final Stage; World Cup Window Could Mark the End of This Bear Cycle

BIT has released its latest weekly report, titled "Will the FIFA World Cup Be the End of the Bitcoin Bear Market?" The report suggests that the current bearish trend of Bitcoin is largely consistent with its early February 2026 outlook. The previously predicted A-B-C correction structure has entered its final phase: after Wave A declined to the $60,000 to $69,000 range, Bitcoin rebounded to the $80,000 to $90,000 range, peaking temporarily around $83,000, after which the rebound momentum gradually weakened.BIT points out that the current Fear and Greed Index has approached historically significant low levels, still showing some similarity to the bottom structure of the 2022 bear market. It maintains its previous view that the summer lull during the 2026 World Cup period could serve as the final stage of Bitcoin's current bear cycle. The report states that future focus will be on the key price range for the end of the bear market, macro catalysts for the next bull run, and trend reversal signals from cyclical indicators. If the relevant framework holds, this market bottom could become one of the low points in Bitcoin's history with a relatively concentrated time window and clearly defined triggering conditions.

New Stock God Serenity: SIVE Deeply Tied to Ayar, Benefiting from the Global AI Rack-Scale Optical Interconnect Wave

Serenity, hailed as the "New Stock God," recently commented on its heavily weighted position SIVE. Ayar Labs and Wiwynn announced a partnership today, a move that could profoundly impact Sivers Semiconductors' (SIVE) efforts to drive the implementation of Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) technology at the rack level.Wiwynn services top-tier cloud providers such as Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft, and is also in talks with Google regarding TPU-related deployments. According to the reference architecture, a single rack needs to be equipped with over 512 Supernova light sources. If SIVE successfully becomes the primary laser array supplier, even a medium-scale rack deployment would bring significant revenue growth to the company.Serenity admitted that the current tri-party rack-level commercialization layout is still in its early stages, and related results have not yet been reflected in financial reports. However, this cooperation has already unlocked key pathways for the large-scale application of CPO, serving as a positive signal from the supply chain that deserves continued market attention.SIVE is currently listed on Nasdaq Stockholm in Sweden. The company is evaluating plans for a dual listing on the US Nasdaq and has not yet debuted on the US main board. The stock dropped sharply by 15.49% in the previous trading session. In response, Serenity stated that the pullback in the optical AI sector and SIVE is merely normal volatility during an upward trend, and it continues to increase its holdings.

Morgan Stanley: AI M&A Wave Shows 'Full Spectrum' Development Trend

Morgan Stanley Global Head of Technology M&A Wally Cheng said that as companies race to fill technological gaps in areas such as chips, electricity, networking, and infrastructure, mergers and acquisitions in the artificial intelligence field are covering all sizes and expanding across multiple industries. Cheng stated: "I believe transaction activity will cover the full spectrum, including both private and public companies." While the semiconductors providing computing power for AI have attracted attention due to their "technological miracle" attributes, the infrastructure surrounding these chips also holds significant value, including areas such as networking, storage, electricity, and real estate. Cheng said that valuations in the AI industry remain "very difficult" because a balance must be struck between "imaginative unicorns with rainbow-like prospects" and actual execution risks. Evercore Senior Managing Director of Technology Investment Banking Tammy Kiely echoed similar views. She said potential acquirers must assess the potential value they themselves can create while weighing the cost of missing out on opportunities. (Jinshi)
