Odaily News, Circle has published a statement on the cirBTC reserve mechanism, stating that each cirBTC is backed 1:1 by one native BTC and can be redeemed for native BTC at a 1:1 ratio. The corresponding BTC is held by Circle-affiliated entities and custodied by Circle National Trust, which is regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The reserve assets are segregated from Circle's corporate assets and are used solely to protect the interests of cirBTC holders. cirBTC is currently live on Ethereum and will receive native support once the Arc mainnet launches, with future expansion to more blockchains. Circle also provides on-chain reserve verification through a public BTC reserve address and the Chainlink Proof of Reserve mechanism, allowing market participants to compare the scale of reserved BTC against the circulating supply of cirBTC across all supported chains.
According to The Block, the Wyoming Stable Token Committee announced the adoption of Chainlink Proof of Reserve to provide near-real-time on-chain reserve validation for its official stablecoin, Frontier Stable Token (FRNT). The Network Firm will audit FRNT reserves in accordance with AICPA standards, while Chainlink will post verification data on-chain in real time to bridge information gaps between reporting cycles. Previously, Wyoming fully migrated FRNT from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP last month as its sole cross-chain infrastructure. The committee is also advancing the Chainlink Proof of Reserve Secure Mint feature, which requires verifying that reserves do not fall below FRNT's total supply before minting new tokens to prevent infinite minting attacks. FRNT launched in January this year and is the United States' first government-issued stable token, backed by U.S. dollars and short-term U.S. Treasuries.
Odaily News - DGrid AI's native token DGAI nearly doubled on its first day of trading, trading at approximately $0.73 on Tuesday, up nearly 93% over the past 24 hours, with a market cap of around $110 million and trading volume exceeding $165 million.DGrid AI is expanding its decentralized AI network, connecting users, developers, and distributed nodes to process AI inference requests. DGAI is used for payments, staking, and node rewards. Odaily News: On August 21, 2026, PeaqOS integrated World ID, allowing robots and machines operating on PeaqOS to natively request and verify World ID proofs via robotic.sh, confirming that the interacting party is a real and unique human—without collecting names, facial information, or other personal data. The system employs zero-knowledge proofs, meaning machines receive cryptographic proof that the user is a real human, rather than identity information. As a coordination layer, PeaqOS connects to World ID through decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and machine markets, recording auditable interaction logs. This solution can be applied in scenarios such as autonomous delivery, shared machines, and pharmaceutical delivery. Users can verify multiple times in the World App and during the delivery process, allowing robots to confirm that the recipient is the same person associated with the order. PeaqOS also plans to extend zero-knowledge verification to more DePIN projects. (Bitcoin.com News)
According to CryptoSlate, researchers from USENIX Security publicly disclosed a clock attack vulnerability against Solana’s Proof of History (PoH) mechanism on August 12. The vulnerability had been privately reported to the Solana development team as early as December 2025. Research indicates that a malicious scheduler leader could manipulate the PoH logical clock through "re-anchoring," slowing the progression of logical time. This would yield a longer transaction selection window within physical time, allowing the attacker to isolate honest leaders' blocks via the TowerBFT fork-choice mechanism, with the required stake for the attack falling below 33%. The Alpenglow security contest hosted by Anza, which offered a 50,000 SOL prize pool, concluded on August 19. However, the vulnerability was excluded from the evaluation scope because the contest rules explicitly excluded "behaviors that can only be triggered when Alpenglow is inactive." The Solana development team confirmed awareness of the issue, stating that the probability of the worst-case scenario occurring under current conditions is low. They expect the Alpenglow upgrade to fundamentally eliminate the attack's prerequisites. The Alpenglow code is already integrated into the Agave 4.2 client but remains inactive on the mainnet, with full deployment expected alongside Agave 4.3. Until then, the transitional risks associated with this vulnerability have yet to receive public implementation-level analysis or official responses.

security firm Project Eleven has introduced a post-quantum proof technology designed to help users prove ownership of their Bitcoin wallets after quantum computers become capable of deriving private keys and generating valid signatures. Project Eleven CEO Alex Pruden stated that the technology utilizes the wallet's key derivation path, enabling users to prove control without disclosing the parent key, thus distinguishing legitimate owners from attackers. The solution was developed in collaboration with Jim Posen, a primary maintainer of the open-source Binius zero-knowledge proof system, and is based on the "signature lifting" technique proposed by Alon Sattath and Robert Wyborski. Project Eleven noted that the prototype has not yet been audited and requires blockchain protocol support before it can be deployed. It is primarily aimed at users who miss the window to migrate to quantum-resistant addresses in the future.
