: VanEck's tokenized U.S. Treasury fund, VBILL, has officially launched on the DeFi lending protocol Euler. The fund is issued and tokenized by Securitize. Investors can now use tokenized Treasury bonds as collateral for on-chain lending and liquidity operations, while meeting compliance restrictions. This move reflects that DeFi protocols are accelerating their transition towards institutionalization and compliance to attract traditional financial capital into the on-chain market. Data shows that the market size of tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds has surpassed $15 billion, growing approximately 150% over the past year. Traditional asset management giants such as BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and Janus Henderson have all launched on-chain treasury or money market products.Euler has previously integrated Securitize's DS Protocol to support the inclusion of tokenized securities with investor qualification restrictions and transfer rules into its lending market. DeFi protocols like Aave are also expanding into institutional-grade RWA businesses.Institutions estimate that the market size for asset tokenization could reach $18.9 trillion by 2033. A Securitize executive stated that as traditional financial institutions enter the crypto space, DeFi protocols must find a balance between openness and compliance requirements. (CoinDesk)
MoonPay has announced the launch of a new platform, MoonPay Trade, designed for banks, fintech companies, and enterprise clients. It provides unified access to tokenized assets, decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, and stablecoin liquidity across over 200 blockchain networks. The platform is powered by Decent.xyz, a cross-chain routing infrastructure company recently acquired by MoonPay for a reported "high eight-figure USD amount." Odaily reports, In a recent video interview with Cointelegraph, Gate Founder and CEO Dr. Han stated that the crypto industry is transitioning from a primarily speculation-driven market towards a phase focused on infrastructure development and real-world applications. Dr. Han pointed out that stablecoins, RWA, AI, and asset tokenization are becoming core directions for the industry, and that clearer regulatory frameworks (such as the CLARITY Act) are expected to further drive innovation in DeFi, payments, and on-chain finance.Dr. Han also mentioned that high user entry barriers, security risks, and liquidity fragmentation remain significant challenges facing the industry. In the future, the crypto industry will further integrate with traditional finance, playing a more important role in areas such as payments, settlement, and the circulation of digital assets.Gate continues to deepen its multi-asset and TradFi strategy. In addition to expanding into assets such as stocks, metals, forex, indices, and commodities, it has also launched Pre-IPOs with the first project, SpaceX (SPCX). At the same time, as one of the first CEX platforms to integrate Polymarket, Gate is continuously promoting the development of the prediction market ecosystem, accelerating the construction of a comprehensive trading platform that spans crypto and traditional finance.
According to CoinPost, Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Digital Society Promotion Headquarters’ “Next-Generation AI & On-Chain Finance Vision Project Team” released a policy proposal on May 19, advocating the integration of AI and blockchain to automate and enable 24/7 operation of decision-making, financing, and asset management—and designating finance as the “18th Growth Investment Sector.” Specific measures proposed in the document include: advancing tokenization of demand deposits at the Bank of Japan (including wholesale CBDC), with conceptual frameworks to be finalized by year-end; joint issuance of a stablecoin by Japan’s three major banks, targeting the launch of live operations by March next year; and promoting on-chain tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs), such as accounts receivable and real estate. At the international cooperation level, the proposal calls for establishing an “AI & On-Chain Finance Asia Policy Dialogue Framework” and advancing cross-border settlements using yen-denominated stablecoins, thereby realizing the “Global SC Corridor Vision.”

Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan stated that privacy is becoming a core infrastructure direction for the next phase of the crypto industry. Recently, three institutional-grade blockchains focused on stablecoins and asset tokenization—Arc, Canton, and Tempo—have accumulated over $1 billion in total funding, indicating a rapidly growing demand from institutions for "privacy-friendly on-chain financial systems."Among them, stablecoin issuer Circle contributed $222 million in funding for Arc, giving it a valuation of approximately $3 billion; Digital Asset’s Canton blockchain is reportedly seeking $300 million in funding at a $2 billion valuation; and Tempo, backed by Stripe and Paradigm, has previously completed $500 million in funding at a valuation of $5 billion.Hougan noted that this funding wave reflects three major trends: the gradual clarification of the U.S. regulatory framework, increased institutional demand for on-chain privacy, and intensified competition among new blockchain networks supported by large enterprises. Current public blockchains still face structural trade-offs between speed, cost, security, and privacy. However, scenarios involving stablecoins and RWA tokenization require systems that simultaneously offer high performance, compliance, and privacy, making “verifiable privacy” a critical prerequisite for institutional adoption of on-chain finance.Hougan further stated that, for enterprises, “all transactions being publicly broadcast” is not an advantage but a potential flaw. In the future, users and institutions may find it increasingly difficult to accept a fully transparent on-chain financial environment. He believes that privacy capabilities could become the “killer app” driving the crypto industry into its next phase of mainstream adoption. Additionally, following the passage of the U.S. Genius Act in 2025, regulatory certainty has significantly increased, providing a clearer policy foundation for institutional funds to enter the crypto infrastructure space. According to Caixin, YF Financial’s gold token product has no secondary market, and the physical gold is stored in a Hong Kong vault. The product will be available only to users who have completed Hong Kong’s Professional Investor (PI) certification. A relevant official stated that physical-gold-backed token products are “in essence not financial leverage, but rather the digitization of assets.” In February this year, eight Chinese government departments—including the People’s Bank of China—jointly issued the “Notice on Further Preventing and Addressing Risks Related to Virtual Currencies and Other Matters,” which for the first time incorporated Real World Assets (RWA) into the regulatory framework at the supervisory level, adopting an overall approach of “strict prohibition domestically and strict oversight overseas.” Earlier reports indicated that YF Youyu—a subsidiary of YF Financial, in which Jack Ma holds an indirect stake—launched a physical-gold-backed token product, with physical gold as its underlying collateral asset; each unit of the product corresponds to 1 gram of LBMA-certified physical gold with 99.99% purity.

According to the official announcement, Layer 1 public blockchain Pharos has unveiled the tokenomics for its native token PROS, with a total supply of 1 billion tokens. The initial supply allocation is as follows: Foundation Treasury (16%), Lab Co. Treasury (9%), Team (20%), Investors (20%), Ecosystem & Community (21%—including 6% for community airdrops: 1% unlocked at TGE and 5% reserved for future community growth and airdrop incentives), and Node & Liquidity Incentives (14%). Core team members and private-sale investors are subject to a 12-month lock-up period followed by a 36-month linear vesting schedule. Certain treasury and incentive allocations extend vesting periods to 48–60 months. PROS serves multiple functions: transaction fees, PoS staking, validator participation, governance, ecosystem incentives, and potential RWA-specific use cases. The staking issuance policy adopts a phased approach: zero inflation during the first six months following mainnet launch; starting in Month 7, annual inflation is set at 5%, subject to dynamic adjustment by the Foundation based on network operational conditions.
The People’s Bank of China Shaoguan Branch, in collaboration with the General Office of the Shaoguan Municipal People’s Government, issued a risk alert on virtual currencies ahead of the “4·15” National Security Education Day for All Citizens. It also disclosed four typical cases: money laundering through “high-paying U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin (USDT) part-time jobs,” illegal fundraising under the guise of “capital-guaranteed, high-yield cryptocurrency trading,” pyramid scheme fraud involving the “RWA Digital Culture & Tourism Fund,” and offline “currency swapping” activities constituting de facto foreign exchange transactions. Regulators clarified that virtual currency exchange, trading, and RWA tokenization activities are all illegal financial activities. Projects promising “high returns, low risk, and guaranteed profits” are mostly scams. The public should abandon fantasies of getting rich overnight, steer clear of virtual currency-related investments, opt for legitimate financial channels, and promptly report any suspicious activity to the police to minimize losses.
HashKey Group Chairman Xiao Feng stated in an exclusive interview with the Hong Kong Wen Wei Po that Hong Kong’s issuance of the first batch of stablecoin licenses represents a significant milestone for the local digital asset market. He noted that this move further accelerates Hong Kong’s tokenization of fiat currency and completes a critical piece of infrastructure—clearing and payment systems—for its digital financial ecosystem. Beyond facilitating cross-border payments and trade settlements, Hong Kong-issued stablecoins will also serve as core mediums of exchange for digital asset transactions. Xiao Feng added that, in the long term, their greater value lies in enabling micro, cross-border, and programmable payments among AI agents, while synergizing with real-world assets (RWA), on-chain clearing, and other use cases—thereby helping Hong Kong secure a more pivotal role in the global evolution of digital assets and digital finance. He also emphasized that HashKey’s trading platform will adhere to principles of openness and regulatory compliance, supporting stablecoin issuers and related products that meet supervisory requirements to jointly foster healthy ecosystem development. Currently, HashKey is actively engaging in substantive cooperation discussions with licensed stablecoin issuers and welcomes institutions planning to launch compliant stablecoins in Hong Kong to establish partnerships. As a core participant in Hong Kong’s digital asset market, HashKey will leverage its existing licensed and compliant framework, fiat on-ramps, and industry resources to support compliant stablecoins across listing, liquidity provision, payment scenario expansion, and the implementation and refinement of related applications—driving orderly industry ecosystem development.

According to Cointelegraph, the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) released its Virtual Asset Issuance Guidance on Thursday, establishing clear requirements for the structural design, disclosure, and distribution of stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). The guidance categorizes token issuances into three pathways: Category 1 covers fiat- and asset-backed virtual assets; Category 2 requires distribution through licensed intermediaries, which are responsible for conducting due diligence and ongoing compliance verification; and Category 3 comprises functionally limited exempt virtual assets. Ruben Bombardi, VARA’s General Counsel, stated that the framework enhances transparency through whitepapers and independent risk disclosure statements, providing issuers with “greater regulatory certainty” and market participants with a “single, dedicated reference point.” This guidance serves as an interpretive document clarifying VARA’s existing Virtual Asset Issuance Rules Handbook—not as newly enacted legislation.
