The US government has sold the Anthropic shares held by two former FTX executives. The buyer and the use of proceeds remain undisclosed.
According to Business Insider, the federal government previously seized Anthropic shares held by FTX fraud case co-conspirators Caroline Ellison and Nishad Singh (valued at $10 million and $40 million, respectively) and sold them in 2025 to existing Anthropic investors. As Anthropic's valuation surged to $96.5 billion, the estimated value of these shares at the time of sale ranged from $250 million to $1.1 billion. However, there has been no record of the proceeds being transferred to the FTX bankruptcy liquidation account, leaving it unclear whether the funds will be used to compensate millions of FTX victims.
