Arbitrum Frozen Crypto Asset Dispute: Lawyers Now Sue Tether to Recover Approximately $344 Million

Source: www.coindesk.com
According to CoinDesk, Charles Gerstein, the attorney representing plaintiffs in the Arbitrum frozen crypto-assets dispute, has now requested the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to order Tether to transfer approximately 344,149,759 frozen USDT. The two TRON wallet addresses holding these assets have been designated by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) as linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Plaintiffs argue that since Tether has already frozen the relevant tokens, an equivalent amount of USDT may be reissued to a wallet controlled by their counsel to satisfy long-outstanding terrorism-related judgment debts.
