According to BeInCrypto, Tom Lee stated that the market's widespread concern over cuts in AI capital expenditure precisely indicates that the current AI market rally has not yet peaked. He pointed out that market tops are usually accompanied by widespread optimism rather than widespread skepticism, and compared the current situation to the period in the late 1990s when investors repeatedly questioned internet stocks such as Cisco—where skepticism at the time actually signaled further gains.
Previously, Steve Eisman, known for shorting the 2008 subprime mortgage crisis, warned that once hyperscale cloud providers cut AI spending, the market would face the risk of a significant decline, stating bluntly, "Ultimately, everything depends on Nvidia." In response, Lee held the opposite view, believing that the likelihood of hyperscale providers cutting AI spending in the near term is low. Additionally, Lee expects the Federal Reserve will tend to regulate the economy by shrinking its balance sheet rather than raising interest rates, and the results of this week's two-day Federal Reserve monetary policy meeting will test the above judgment.
