UK CMA Launches Investigation into Microsoft Over Copilot Price Increase

According to Bloomberg, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced an investigation into Microsoft to verify whether, after bundling Copilot AI features into the Microsoft 365 suite (including apps such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and raising prices, it fully disclosed relevant subscription price change information to users. Regulators are concerned that consumers may be forced to pay higher fees without clear notification.
