Advent and Stripe Call Off Over $50 Billion Acquisition of PayPal

According to Bloomberg, informed sources said that a consortium composed of private equity firm Advent and payment processor Stripe has decided to abandon its attempt to acquire fintech company PayPal. Previously, the consortium had submitted an acquisition offer exceeding $50 billion, which would have been one of the largest leveraged buyouts in history had the deal been completed.
