RLUSD supports deposits and withdrawals across three chains: XRPL, Base, and Ethereum, while Ripple will provide liquidity on Base. Support for Coinbase Global Exchange customers (including the use of RLUSD as collateral) will follow. Launched in December 2024, RLUSD currently has a market capitalization exceeding $2.4 billion.
Ripple and Robinhood have announced a strategic partnership, under which Robinhood's retail and institutional trading platforms will integrate Ripple's stablecoin, institutional markets, and treasury management infrastructure. RLUSD is now live on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, and will launch on the Robinhood App later this year; Robinhood will also use RLUSD for institutional settlement on the XRPL.
According to a press release published on Ripple's official website, Aviva Investors and Ripple have announced the launch of a tokenized share class for a British pound (GBP) liquidity fund on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This marks the company's second existing fund to undergo tokenization, following the launch of a tokenized share class for its US dollar liquidity fund in July 2026. The GBP liquidity fund is Aviva Investors' largest fund, with approximately £22 billion in assets under management, and is registered in Ireland as a UCITS money market fund. Aviva itself has invested £50 million (approximately $66 million) into the new share class. Combined investments across both tokenized share classes exceed £86 million (approximately $116 million), making Aviva Investors one of Europe's largest providers of tokenized money market funds. The fund utilizes a "digital twin" model, representing investor holdings on-chain while preserving the off-chain fund structure. The tokenized shares carry the same investment objectives, risk characteristics, liquidity, and regulatory protections as traditional shares. The new shares are available to eligible investors holding digital wallets, and are powered by Komainu and Licuido, with assets remaining custodied by BNY Mellon.
Odaily Report: The XRPL maintenance amendment fixCleanup3_4_0 restarted its activation clock after losing validator majority in the first countdown, regaining majority support on October 21. The earliest activation window has been moved to November 4, but support must be maintained. A snapshot at 07:09 UTC on October 24 shows that 32 of 35 trusted validators support the amendment, a support rate of 91.43%, with the new majority support timestamp at 14:46:22 UTC on October 21. The amendment was first initiated on October 9, lost majority on October 21, and the clock was reset because it failed to meet the requirement of two consecutive weeks of support. According to the rules, more than 80% of trusted validators must support it for two consecutive weeks before activation; if support falls below that threshold, the clock resets. November 4 is only a conditional earliest activation window. This technical fix package involves features including vaults, lending, AMM, permissioned trading, trust lines, and NFTs.
Odaily News: Ripple has partnered with Privy, a wallet infrastructure company under Stripe, to bring XRP Ledger (XRPL) support to the Privy developer platform. Following the integration, developers will be able to integrate XRPL wallets into their applications without having to build wallet infrastructure themselves, enabling wallet creation and management, transaction signing, and more, with support for XRP, Ripple-issued RLUSD stablecoin, and other assets on the network.
Standard Chartered Bank has officially announced support for institutional custody services for Ripple USD (RLUSD) issued on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The service is offered through Standard Chartered Bank's DIFC branch and is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). Concurrently, Standard Chartered Bank is partnering with Ripple and LMAX Group to incorporate RLUSD into LMAX Group's eligible collateral framework for its products. Through Standard Chartered Bank's collateral mirroring model, institutional clients can flexibly deploy digital assets for trading without directly transferring RLUSD to the trading venue, thereby reducing transfer operational risks, optimizing counterparty exposure, and enhancing capital efficiency. The aforementioned functionalities will go live only after final document execution, testing, and compliance approvals are completed.
Odaily Report: On-chain detective ZachXBT retweeted the XRP Ledger Foundation's explanation regarding a previous critical security vulnerability and criticized its bug bounty mechanism.ZachXBT stated that XRPL, which holds billions of dollars in assets, only paid a $250,000 reward to the white hat hacker who discovered the critical vulnerability. He believes that this level of reward could weaken security researchers' incentive to proactively report vulnerabilities, and may even encourage attackers to exploit vulnerabilities for massive gains rather than responsibly disclosing the issue.Previously, the XRP Ledger Foundation confirmed that the vulnerability could theoretically bypass the XRP total supply limit, but no additional XRP was found to have been created as a result, and the vulnerability has been fixed through version 3.4.1.
Odaily News: The XRP Ledger Foundation posted on the X platform to clarify the recent XRP Ledger security vulnerability incident, stating that the vulnerability could potentially have been used to bypass the limit that fixes XRP's total supply at 100 billion, but it was fixed two weeks ago via version 3.4.1. Furthermore, upon verification, no new XRP was found to have been created, and the total amount of XRP currently circulating on the ledger is approximately 99.986 billion. The Foundation stated that the vulnerability would have required hundreds of deliberately constructed operations to trigger, and normal payment transactions would almost never involve it. In the future, it will strengthen formal verification, AI adversarial testing, security research collaboration, and bug bounty programs with RippleX and the community. Regarding the fix process, the Foundation explained that publicly releasing a patch could allow attackers to use AI to accelerate vulnerability analysis. To address this situation, the XRPL community engaged in coordination. Participating parties including the XRP Ledger Foundation, RippleX, core developers, and validators reached a social consensus and agreed to adopt the approach of directly releasing the fix. In addition, version 3.4.1 only became a version the network was required to adopt after going through the normal amendment voting process and receiving support from more than 80% of validators for two consecutive weeks. Protocol changes still need to be completed through the amendment mechanism.Previously, RippleX engineering lead J. Ayo Akinyele also posted on the X platform, stating that he attaches great importance to the recently disclosed critical vulnerability in the XRP Ledger (XRPL) payment engine. This vulnerability is a serious security issue that has existed in the codebase for more than 10 years and could theoretically lead to the over-creation of XRP, breaking through the fixed supply cap. However, before the vulnerability could be exploited, it was discovered by the security research firm Veria AI through Ripple's bug bounty program.
Odaily News: J. Ayo Akinyele, Engineering Lead at RippleX, posted on X platform stating that they take the recently disclosed critical vulnerability in the XRP Ledger (XRPL) payment engine very seriously. The vulnerability is a severe security issue that has existed in the codebase for over 10 years and could theoretically lead to the over-creation of XRP, breaching the fixed supply cap. However, the vulnerability was discovered by security research firm Veria AI through Ripple's bug bounty program before it could be exploited.J. Ayo Akinyele further added that the Ripple team quickly developed and tested a fix, working closely with validator nodes to complete the network upgrade, and patched the vulnerability before its public disclosure. Currently, AI is changing the speed of vulnerability discovery, and XRPL needs to further enhance its security response capabilities. RippleX will strengthen its bug bounty program, expand AI-assisted vulnerability hunting and adversarial testing, review long-standing code in the payment engine, consensus mechanism, and P2P network, while advancing formal verification of critical modules and reducing potential risks through systematic security hardening. The goal is not just to fix a single vulnerability, but to identify and eliminate potential risks in XRPL's legacy code, making the network more difficult to attack.

Ripple stated that multiple asset management firms are preparing for the Batch V1.1 feature on the XRP Ledger. This upgrade aims to improve payment efficiency through atomic settlement and is expected to go live by the end of September.
Odaily News: The latest software version 3.3.0 of XRP Ledger (XRPL) introduces several upgrade proposals, including Confidential Transfers. This feature is designed for institutional users, supporting encrypted token balances and transfer amounts while preserving the visibility of accounts and token types. It is primarily applied to Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPT) on XRPL, including tokenized financial assets such as funds and bonds. Through cryptographic technologies like zero-knowledge proofs, the network can verify transaction validity without disclosing specific amounts. XRPL currently holds approximately $1.38 billion in on-chain real-world assets (RWA), including about $845.7 million in RLUSD. In addition to RLUSD, there are over $530 million in tokenized assets on XRPL, involving issuers such as Ondo, VERT Capital, Archax, and Societe Generale. XRPL 3.3.0 also includes five proposals—Batch, Sponsor, Permission Delegation, and Dynamic MPT—addressing institutional needs such as batch transactions, fee sponsorship, permission management, and dynamic adjustments to token attributes. The aforementioned upgrades have not yet been officially launched and will only be activated after receiving support from more than 80% of XRPL's trusted validator nodes for two consecutive weeks.
Ripple announced strategic investments in UK fund technology company ZILO and FCA-regulated tokenized trading platform Licuido, integrating regulated digital transfer agency, asset issuance, and collateral liquidity capabilities into the XRP Ledger. Ripple stated that the relevant infrastructure will support tokenized funds as collateral from the issuance stage and enable atomic settlement via XRPL, while RLUSD can serve as the regulated cash leg in delivery versus payment transactions. The investment amount was not disclosed.
Ripple launches XRPL lending protocol, aimed at providing lending and credit infrastructure for on-chain assets. The protocol adopts a design philosophy of "off-chain credit assessment, on-chain standardized execution", consists of two parts: single-asset vaults and lending protocol, and is used to organize liquidity and issue loans, calculate interest, process repayments, and handle defaults according to agreed terms.
Ripple is advancing the addition of a lending infrastructure layer on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), enabling institutions to raise funds using on-chain tokenized assets as collateral. The protocol will automatically execute loan terms, while credit evaluation and lending decisions remain handled by off-chain institutions.According to disclosures, the proposal is named the XRPL Lending Protocol (corresponding to XLS-65 and XLS-66 standards). It is currently in the technical draft stage and will require approval through validator voting before launching on the mainnet, but developer testing has already been opened on the test network. The protocol’s design splits the lending process into two parts: on-chain management of liquidity pools, interest calculation, repayment execution, and default handling; while borrower credit assessment and loan term setting remain with traditional financial institutions to meet compliance requirements across different jurisdictions.Ripple states that the mechanism is primarily aimed at institutional short-term liquidity needs. For example, in cross-border payment scenarios, temporary financing through stablecoins or collateral assets can be obtained before settlement is completed, thereby improving capital efficiency.Analysts believe that while the plan attempts to introduce a “rule-enforced lending infrastructure” similar to traditional finance while maintaining XRPL's open network attributes, it will still face competition from established on-chain lending protocols such as Aave, Compound, and Maple. Squid, a cross-chain infrastructure platform, has announced the integration of RLUSD, the stablecoin issued by Ripple. Users can now swap into or out of RLUSD in a single transaction across different blockchains and digital assets.Through this integration, RLUSD will gain access to over 100 blockchains and more than 20,000 tokens supported by Squid. Users can directly exchange assets such as USDC, USDT, ETH, and XRP for RLUSD without needing to manually bridge chains, wrap tokens, or execute multiple transactions.RLUSD is natively issued on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, and has been extended to Ethereum Layer 2 networks such as the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Optimism, Base, Ink, and Unichain via Wormhole's Native Token Transfer standard. Squid's routing layer sits atop these underlying transfer mechanisms, allowing users to utilize RLUSD irrespective of the specific issuance chain.Squid states that its intent-based routing system, which uses market makers to fulfill orders with liquidity on the destination chain, can settle transactions within seconds and is compatible with various cross-chain messaging and issuance standards. Beyond end-users, developers can also integrate RLUSD through Squid's tools for applications including cross-chain payments, treasury management, user onboarding, and DeFi.
According to CoinDesk, Ripple is attempting to introduce XRP and its stablecoin, Ripple USD, into the AI agent payment market—currently dominated by the dollar-pegged stablecoin USD Coin—in order to penetrate the on-chain micropayment ecosystem. It has launched the “XRPL AI Starter Kit,” a toolkit for developers to build AI agent payment capabilities, enabling agents to perform payments, check balances, and conduct wallet operations on the XRP Ledger, and supporting automated payment workflows based on the x402 protocol. However, Ripple has not yet disclosed any large-scale, production-ready customers or real-world AI agent payment transaction data; the initiative remains in the early infrastructure and developer ecosystem exploration phase.
Ripple has announced a new toolkit for developers to build "agentic payments" applications on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), enabling AI agents to execute automated financial transactions.Ripple stated that AI agents are no longer a future concept; they are already actively participating in paying for computing power, settling invoices, and completing transactions without human intervention. As the application of AI agents expands, the market is accelerating the construction of machine-oriented payment infrastructure, including wallets and stablecoin payment channels, allowing AI to autonomously handle service payments and asset trading. This week, Robinhood also launched a related initiative, allowing users to try stock trading executed by AI agents, with plans to expand into the crypto asset sector in the future; MetaMask has also released a non-custodial wallet solution for AI agents.Ripple pointed out that traditional payment systems are primarily designed for human-initiated and approved processes, whereas AI agents require infrastructure that enables rapid settlement, predictable outcomes, and no need for manual approval. It emphasized that its new toolkit also supports payments based on the x402 protocol, allowing settlement using XRP and Ripple USD (RLUSD).Meanwhile, the IC3 team, composed of researchers from multiple universities, stated that while combining AI with blockchain can achieve automated transactions, AI agents remain highly dependent on humans and the underlying infrastructure and do not possess complete autonomy. XRP Ledger developers have submitted a draft amendment titled "AMM Swappable Curves," planning to introduce three types of switchable curves for XRPL's native automated market maker: constant product, concentrated liquidity, and StableSwap, with a programmable Smart AMM to follow. This upgrade aims to allow liquidity providers to choose a more suitable pricing curve based on asset type, thereby improving capital efficiency. Concentrated liquidity is suitable for trading pairs where most transactions are concentrated within a specific price range, while StableSwap is better suited for assets with near 1:1 exchange rates, such as stablecoins or pegged assets. Existing AMM pools will continue to use the current constant product model and do not require migration. This proposal is seen as a crucial step for XRPL to bridge its DeFi infrastructure gap. Currently, there are over $3 billion in tokenized real-world assets on the XRPL chain, including the recent tokenized U.S. Treasury redemption pilot conducted by Ripple and JPMorgan. However, for these assets to be traded, lent, or generate yields more efficiently, a more mature DeFi liquidity infrastructure is still needed. However, the proposal is still in the draft stage. It will need to go through the XRPL amendment voting process, which could take several months, and its eventual approval remains uncertain. (Coindesk)
