Odaily News: Wormhole has announced that the Moonbeam network will officially shut down on July 31, 2026. During the transition period, the Moonbeam parachain will continue to operate, but will cease operations after July 31.Wormhole stated that after this date, Portal and Wormhole contributors will be unable to assist in recovering assets remaining on the Moonbeam chain, and advises users to cross-chain transfer their external assets through official Moonbeam channels before the deadline. Previously, Moonbeam announced its exit from the Polkadot ecosystem and will migrate GLMR tokens to the Base network at a 1:1 ratio.
According to CoinDesk, researchers at blockchain security company Hexens discovered an "expired cache" type confusion vulnerability in the Aptos blockchain Move virtual machine. Attackers require only about $3,000 in server costs to launch attacks in a simulated environment with a success rate of nearly 90%, without needing validator privileges or internal knowledge. Researchers ran approximately 20 attacks in simulated tests, succeeding 17-18 times, and verified the potential ability to control management permissions of cross-chain protocols such as LayerZero, Wormhole, and USDC CCTP. Hexens assessed that the vulnerability directly threatens protocols on the Aptos chain such as DeFi, stablecoins, and liquid staking, involving assets in the low single-digit billions of dollars; if spread through paths such as cross-chain bridges, stablecoin minting, and centralized exchanges, the systemic risk exposure could reach up to $70 billion. The Aptos team completed the fix and deployed it to the mainnet within hours after receiving the vulnerability report on February 25, and currently no user funds have been compromised.
Jack McDonald, Senior Vice President of Ripple's stablecoin business, disclosed eight recent developments regarding RLUSD in a post on X on June 29, covering settlement, regional access, on-chain liquidity, cross-border payments, multi-chain support, exchange listings, charity, and the Japanese market. Mastercard has expanded its settlement capabilities to support RLUSD across eight blockchain networks, including the XRP Ledger. Ripple has also expanded RLUSD's availability in Turkey through partnerships with BiLira, Bitexen, and Bitlo, and collaborated with Bitso to enable RLUSD and MXNB to support liquidity and cross-border transactions via the XRP Ledger's Permissioned DEX. RLUSD has also achieved multi-chain support through Wormhole Native Token Transfers and entered the Japanese market via SBI VC Trade after receiving approval from the Japan Financial Services Agency. Additionally, RLUSD has been listed on exchanges such as Gate and Floq, integrated with the cross-chain infrastructure provider Squid Router, and Ripple has joined Water's GetBlue campaign as its exclusive digital asset and payment partner.
Squid, a cross-chain infrastructure platform, has announced the integration of RLUSD, the stablecoin issued by Ripple. Users can now swap into or out of RLUSD in a single transaction across different blockchains and digital assets.Through this integration, RLUSD will gain access to over 100 blockchains and more than 20,000 tokens supported by Squid. Users can directly exchange assets such as USDC, USDT, ETH, and XRP for RLUSD without needing to manually bridge chains, wrap tokens, or execute multiple transactions.RLUSD is natively issued on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, and has been extended to Ethereum Layer 2 networks such as the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Optimism, Base, Ink, and Unichain via Wormhole's Native Token Transfer standard. Squid's routing layer sits atop these underlying transfer mechanisms, allowing users to utilize RLUSD irrespective of the specific issuance chain.Squid states that its intent-based routing system, which uses market makers to fulfill orders with liquidity on the destination chain, can settle transactions within seconds and is compatible with various cross-chain messaging and issuance standards. Beyond end-users, developers can also integrate RLUSD through Squid's tools for applications including cross-chain payments, treasury management, user onboarding, and DeFi.
Odaily Odaily, Securitize officially announced that Hamilton Lane's tokenized senior credit opportunity fund, HLSCOPE, is now live on the TRON blockchain. This marks the first Securitize-issued asset launched on TRON. Qualified investors can access HLSCOPE on TRON through Securitize.Securitize will leverage its official interoperability partner, Wormhole, to enable HLSCOPE tokens to move across blockchain ecosystems. Carlos Domingo, Co-founder and CEO of Securitize, stated that bringing HLSCOPE to TRON expands access to private markets through financial activity infrastructure. Justin Sun, Founder of TRON, said that welcoming Securitize and HLSCOPE into the TRON ecosystem is an important step in connecting traditional finance with blockchain infrastructure. (financewire)
