EIP-7702 authorization exploited to move Binance wallet assets, with an additional $780M USDC transferred out

Odaily reports: According to Bitcoin News monitoring, on-chain analysis shows that attackers appear to have exploited the Ethereum EIP-7702 mechanism to obtain signature authorization, installing malicious code without directly accessing the private keys of Binance-associated wallets. The attackers then called a function named "sweep" to transfer ETH and dozens of tokens into wallets under their control; the same delegation permission was reportedly also used to transfer $780 million USDC out of another Binance hot wallet. The attackers' transaction relayer received funding through Tornado Cash, and nearly 195,460 ETH was subsequently transferred to a newly created wallet. How the attackers obtained the relevant authorization remains unclear. Binance stated that user funds are safe and that an investigation is currently underway.

Loopring DEX Announces Suspension of All Trading Services

According to official sources, Loopring DEX has ceased all trading services, and its relayer has been taken offline. The team stated the closure was due to a lack of substantial adoption, the absence of a virtual machine, the delisting of LRC by major exchanges in 2026, and its technology being surpassed by modern zkEVMs. The team will directly distribute all assets to users, requiring no on-chain operations or payment of gas fees.In the coming days, the team will publish on X platform the final balance list for Loopring L2, including spot balances and liquidity pool positions automatically converted into tokens. This list will be displayed for two weeks for verification. After the review period, assets will be sent in batches directly to users' L1 wallet addresses. This distribution is limited to accounts with a final total balance value of $10 or more, and the entire distribution process is expected to be completed within a few weeks after initiation.
