ai16z founder Shaw: Pump.fun contract reverse engineering is not a simple replication, but a pursuit of byte-level consistency

ai16z founder Shaw further introduced the Pump.fun smart contract reverse engineering plan on X, stating that the goal is not to develop a contract with similar functionality, but to restore a version that is completely identical to the original contract at the byte level, including the vulnerabilities and flaws in the original code. He called on developers to participate in the reverse engineering with AI tools and continuously submit code contributions via GitHub.Shaw pointed out that closed-source smart contracts are detrimental to security audits, and stated that over the past year, fund losses caused by serious security vulnerabilities in closed-source contracts exceeded $40 million. He believes that promoting open-source contracts helps developers and AI discover and report potential vulnerabilities. In addition, Shaw also plans to use tokens previously repurchased with Meme coin fee revenue as bounty rewards, distributing them to contributors participating in the reverse engineering.Previously, ai16z founder Shaw posted on X stating that 90% of the Pump.fun contract reverse engineering work had been completed, with full completion expected that evening, and said, "Open source everything, or you will be forced to open source."

Polygon Labs Completes Acquisition of Coinme, Entering the Payments Market with Stablecoin Infrastructure

Odaily reports: Polygon Labs has announced the completion of its acquisition of Coinme, a US-regulated crypto payment service provider, with plans to leverage stablecoin infrastructure to enter the payments market dominated by Visa and Stripe. Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron stated that the acquisition will help Polygon Labs own customer relationships and capture revenue that previously flowed to intermediaries; Polygon Labs has now become a payments-focused company that uses blockchain to move money. In January, Polygon Labs launched Open Money Stack to support stablecoin payments and cross-border transfers, and to charge fees for currency exchange and money transfers. Marc Boiron said the regulated payments business is expected to become profitable by 2027. Data shows that Visa's payment volume exceeded $12.3 trillion in fiscal year 2025, while Stripe's payment volume reached $1.9 trillion. Through the acquisition of Coinme, Polygon Labs will control more business processes in areas such as crypto asset, stablecoin, and fiat currency conversion, rather than handing customers over to third parties. Polygon Labs' unified payments platform is currently still in technical preview and not yet fully open; early users include Tazapay, Mesh, Toku, and Kira.

Anthropic Head of International Business: Open-Weight Models Carry Higher Risks

Guillaume Princen, Head of International Business at Anthropic, stated at the International AI Summit in Dublin that open-weight AI models carry higher security risks by definition. In his remarks on Wednesday, he noted that while he cannot speak on behalf of open models, they inherently carry higher risks by definition. Princen’s core concern revolves around control: once open weights are released, safeguards can be removed, and copies can operate on private systems where developers cannot monitor or recall them.
