Odaily News: The Polkadot community has initiated OpenGov Proposal No. 1944, aiming to create a native decentralized stablecoin called dotUSD and establish it as the primary stable value asset within the Polkadot ecosystem. The proposal is currently undergoing governance voting. According to the proposal, dotUSD will adopt an over-collateralization mechanism, allowing users to mint dotUSD by locking DOT in the future. The system will also include a stability pool, liquidation mechanism, and redemption mechanism to maintain its peg to the US dollar. The proposal plans to use funds from the Polkadot treasury to provide initial liquidity for the DOT/dotUSD liquidity pool, with $2.5 million in USDT used to mint dotUSD and an additional $2.5 million worth of DOT allocated to the liquidity pool, bringing the total initial funding to $5 million. dotUSD is planned to launch in phases, with the first phase using USDT as reserve backing for minting, and the second phase introducing a full DOT collateral vault, oracle, stability pool, liquidation, and redemption mechanisms.

According to Circle's official blog, Circle's cross-chain infrastructure CCTP has officially expanded support for native cross-chain transfers of the euro stablecoin EURC. EURC operates on the same "burn-and-mint" model as USDC, with initial cross-chain settlement support between Ethereum and Base. Developers can transfer both USDC and EURC via a single unified interface without connecting to multiple bridge providers, effectively reducing integration complexity and enhancing liquidity efficiency. EURC is issued by a regulated affiliate of Circle, while CCTP does not hold or manage user assets.
Privacy-focused public chain Zano activated its sixth hard fork (HF6) at block height 3,833,000 on August 31. The upgrade is now live on the mainnet, marking the largest upgrade in the network's seven-year history.HF6 introduces Gateway Addresses, providing centralized exchanges, DEXs, and cross-chain bridges with directly trackable single balances and instant synchronization, while preserving existing addresses and their privacy model. Native ZANO can now be transferred non-custodially across chains to Ethereum, Solana, and TON, where it becomes public on external networks, and privacy protection is restored upon transferring back to Zano. The upgrade also tightens consensus validation rules and enhances wallet encryption, mining pool fault tolerance, payment IDs, anti-DoS restrictions, SOCKS5 proxy, and RPC interfaces.HF6 is a prerequisite for the EVM-compatible chain Zano Execution Layer, which is currently in development and has no fixed launch date yet; the next-generation consensus protocol Zenith has been included in the 2027 roadmap. Odaily News: Vitalik posted on X platform, stating that he has updated the 2023 roadmap diagram, overlaying the items listed at that time onto their corresponding positions in the current Strawmap. Overall, there is significant overlap between the two, but the order of some items has been rearranged—for example, quantum security has been prioritized higher; some items have been deprioritized, such as VDF and many EVM improvements; and some items have been replaced by better constructions, such as Verkle evolving into unified BT and then PBT, with state expiration being replaced by new state types. However, the most notable change is that the Strawmap includes some entirely new additions not present in the diagram, as these were not in the 2023 roadmap, reflecting shifts in priorities. The main additions include: - Giving first-class priority to strong privacy, including keyed Nonces and recent roots, parts of FOCIL, lean privacy pools, and Wormholes; - Advancing scalability around post-quantum scenarios, including leanSPHINCS signatures and aggregation, and zkzk frames; - Pushing forward the Lean specification to assist formal verification. Full formal verification of everything is now feasible thanks to modern AI; - Blob and Gas futures, a concept that did not exist in 2023; - Native Rollups—back in 2023, SNARKs were far from mature enough to consider this direction; - Opening up a more expansive design space for "the future of EVM." zkzk frames already imply that the protocol will offer users a non-EVM ISA, with the main current candidates being leanISA and RISC-V. These ISAs are simpler, more modern, and more efficient than the EVM. Once introduced, they can be opened up to all developers, transforming the EVM into an intermediate representation (IR) built on top of these ISAs, rather than a built-in feature that significantly increases base protocol complexity. However, deeper exploration in this area is still premature even for the Strawmap; - New state types are not just a replacement for state expiration, but a fundamentally different paradigm for how Ethereum scales. He noted that a common theme across the scalability space is reflected in two new ideas—state types and zkzk frames: rather than trying to maximize the extension of all Ethereum activity, it is better to create specialized mechanisms with restrictive properties that are therefore better suited for scalability, while carrying the heaviest load from current and future users and applications, such as token transfers, swaps, and privacy protocols. Another common theme is treating STARKs and AI-accelerated formal verification as first-class objects, and building Ethereum's technological future upon them. Recursive STARKs appear at multiple layers of the protocol, and one specific primitive, "aggregate to union verified dependencies," is expected to be used in three locations in the protocol: the execution layer, consensus layer, and data layer. Its safety can only be ensured thr
ByteDance Seed Team released SeedRealtime, a native audio-video full-duplex large model, now available on the Doubao App. The model unifies audio, video, and text within an end-to-end architecture, processing perception, understanding, decision-making, and expression in parallel, and internalizes turn-taking within the model, replacing external Voice Activity Detectors. Internal human evaluation at ByteDance shows that its rhythm issues are halved compared to cascaded architectures, but no technical report, parameter scale, open-source weights, or API have been released.

Odaily, the decentralized cross-chain liquidity protocol THORChain has resumed trading after being down for over five weeks following a May attack. Signing, swapping, liquidity provider operations, and redemptions have all been restored. On May 15, blockchain investigator ZachXBT and security firm PeckShield identified that the protocol had likely been exploited, prompting THORChain to halt trading. The vulnerability resulted in a loss of approximately $10.7 million from one of its six Asgard vaults, while the other five vaults were unaffected.THORChain stated that each vault has now been verified, and every key share has been cross-checked. Native Monero swaps are currently undergoing end-to-end testing and will be launched subsequently. (The Block)
Squid, a cross-chain infrastructure platform, has announced the integration of RLUSD, the stablecoin issued by Ripple. Users can now swap into or out of RLUSD in a single transaction across different blockchains and digital assets.Through this integration, RLUSD will gain access to over 100 blockchains and more than 20,000 tokens supported by Squid. Users can directly exchange assets such as USDC, USDT, ETH, and XRP for RLUSD without needing to manually bridge chains, wrap tokens, or execute multiple transactions.RLUSD is natively issued on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum, and has been extended to Ethereum Layer 2 networks such as the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Optimism, Base, Ink, and Unichain via Wormhole's Native Token Transfer standard. Squid's routing layer sits atop these underlying transfer mechanisms, allowing users to utilize RLUSD irrespective of the specific issuance chain.Squid states that its intent-based routing system, which uses market makers to fulfill orders with liquidity on the destination chain, can settle transactions within seconds and is compatible with various cross-chain messaging and issuance standards. Beyond end-users, developers can also integrate RLUSD through Squid's tools for applications including cross-chain payments, treasury management, user onboarding, and DeFi.
