Lightning Labs opens Wavelength, enabling AI agents to make autonomous payments on the Bitcoin mainnet

Odaily reports: Bitcoin News posted on X platform that Lightning Labs has opened Wavelength to all users, allowing AI agents to autonomously send and receive payments on the Bitcoin mainnet via the Lightning Network and L402, without requiring manual approval for each transaction. AI agents can use it to pay API call fees, purchase data, and transact with other agents, with individual fees as low as under 1 cent; developers can integrate payment functionality into applications without running a Lightning Network node, managing channels, or sourcing liquidity. The self-custodial toolkit supports independent on-chain exits, with each wallet initially capped at 300,000 sats, and Lightning Network payments incur a 0.25% service fee. Wavelength is currently still in Alpha and plans to support stablecoins.

Lightning Labs Proposes LayerTree, a Bitcoin Scaling Solution

According to The Block, Lightning Labs has launched LayerTree, a Bitcoin scaling solution designed to allow up to 1 million users to share a single UTXO. The design operates in a non-custodial model and connects to the Lightning Network, but requires changes to the Bitcoin protocol before deployment.

Lightning Labs Launches Ark-Based Bitcoin Payment Platform Wavelength

Lightning Labs announced on X platform that it has launched Wavelength, a self-custodial Bitcoin payment toolkit designed to make integrating Bitcoin into applications as simple as calling an API. Built on an Ark-like settlement layer, the platform enables developers, AI agents, and vibe coders to connect any application to Lightning payments without running a node, managing channels, or acquiring liquidity. It also supports AI agents in using Bitcoin payment APIs, data sources, and other services through MCP tool calls. Wavelength is currently available in alpha on signet and testnet, while mainnet access requires an invitation.
