According to The Block, trading platform eToro announced on July 2 local time that it led a $12.5 million strategic financing round for the on-chain perpetual futures exchange Extended, with Jump Crypto also participating in this investment. This financing is closely tied to a strategic partnership with Zengo, eToro's self-custody wallet. Both parties will jointly explore the integration of traditional financial assets and decentralized trading environments, expanding on-chain access channels to global financial markets. Extended was founded by former Revolut employees, launched trading at the end of 2024, and is built on StarkWare's on-chain scaling engine StarkEx.
Uzbekistan Establishes a Special Economic Zone Exclusively for Miners, with Tax Exemptions Extended to 2035
According to bits.media, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree establishing the Besqala Mining Valley Special Economic Zone in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Miners operating within the zone will enjoy tax incentives, valid until January 1, 2035. The zone will be connected to a unified power system powered by renewable energy and hydrogen. Cryptographic assets mined within the zone may be sold or exchanged via domestic Uzbek exchanges or overseas platforms. Mining licenses will be issued by the State Agency for Perspective Projects. Currently, Uzbekistan mandates that cryptocurrency transactions be conducted exclusively through state-licensed service providers; peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions are explicitly prohibited by law, digital assets cannot be used for payment or settlement, and only legal entities are permitted to engage in mining activities. The country introduced its mining licensing regime in 2023, with the first license officially issued only at the end of February 2026.

The official Extended X account posted that its Discord server was hacked earlier today, with a fake announcement appearing in the server claiming "$EXT token claim is now live." The official team explicitly stated that there are currently no TGE plans or $EXT token claim activities, and relevant websites are all counterfeit phishing websites. Users are reminded not to connect wallets, sign any messages, or approve any transactions on relevant websites; if interaction with malicious websites has occurred, token approvals should be revoked immediately using trusted tools, assets should be transferred to a new wallet, and the original wallet should be considered compromised.
