Bringing ETH Security to Cosmos

News Heat Trend

Project Overview

Ethos is the coordination layer that is bringing Ethereum restaking to Cosmos. To handle the restaking of ETH and associated slashing mechanisms Ethos leverages the infrastructure of EigenLayer by deploying an AVS (Actively Validated Service). As for the mesh security contracts Ethos relies on IBC and Ethos appchain to coordinate users’ stake between consumer chains.

Coinbase CEO: On-Chain Reputation Will Replace Traditional Credit Scoring

According to BeInCrypto, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated that on-chain reputation will become the next generation of credit scoring systems, potentially replacing FICO scores, which currently drive 90% of top-tier lending decisions in the U.S. In a reply to Base founder Jesse Pollak, Armstrong noted that public ledgers can already track repayment history, wallet age, and counterparty behavior, enabling any lender to access the exact same on-chain records. Currently, Ethos Network rates wallets through mutual user endorsements, and the lending app Credifi leverages these scores to offer unsecured loans of up to $3,000 to wallets achieving a score of 1,800. However, since on-chain addresses are not tied to real-world identities, borrowers can simply create new wallets at any time. Whether on-chain reputation can accurately price genuine risk remains to be validated by future default rate data.

AI-powered recruitment platform Ethos raises $22.75M in Series A funding, led by a16z

London-based AI recruitment platform Ethos has raised $22.75 million in Series A funding, led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) with participation from General Catalyst. Ethos uses AI-powered interviews and assessments of professional artifacts—including essays, code, and more—to build detailed skill profiles of candidates and match them to paid opportunities such as expert consulting, market research, AI data labeling, advisory roles, and full-time positions. Founded in 2023 by James Lo and Daniel J. Mankowitz—former employees of Google DeepMind, McKinsey & Company, and SoftBank—the company aims to address the growing challenge of identifying genuine candidate capabilities amid rising numbers of fabricated or AI-generated resumes. The new capital will be used to scale its AI agents, expand its global network of experts, and deepen collaborations with AI labs and enterprise clients.
