Odaily Report: During the Binance attack, an obvious arbitrage opportunity emerged on-chain. According to a community user's review, the attacker, in order to avoid Tether freezing, swapped a large amount of USDT for ETH through DEXs, causing the ETH price on Uniswap to briefly rise to $2,560–$2,750, with some individual trades exceeding $3,000, while Aave's ETH price obtained through the Chainlink oracle remained at $2,250–$2,290. A price gap of 15% to 30% appeared between on-chain and oracle prices, lasting nearly an hour.Arbitrageurs exploited this price gap by depositing USDC/USDT as collateral into Aave, borrowing ETH at the oracle price, then selling it at high prices on DEXs, and buying back ETH to repay the loans once the spread narrowed. According to the user's statistics, within 6 hours after the incident, a total of 61 addresses borrowed ETH on Aave mainnet (excluding the hacker's address). Among them, the most profitable address sold 12,289 ETH at an average price of approximately $2,580, then bought back 12,314 ETH at an average price of approximately $2,297, earning about $3.47 million. The top ten arbitrage addresses collectively profited approximately $6.36 million. The user stated that the arbitrageurs exploited the price disconnection between centralized exchanges and DEXs, and that the Aave contract itself had no vulnerability. As DEX prices fell back and Aave froze the mainnet V3 market, the arbitrage window gradually closed. The above profits are based on transaction-by-transaction on-chain statistics and have not yet deducted Gas fees.

Currently, the mechanism covers 10 products, including Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF (BTC), Ethereum Staking Mini ETF (ETH), Avalanche Staking ETF (GAVA), Chainlink Trust ETF (GLNK), Dogecoin Trust ETF (GDOG), Hyperliquid Staking ETF (HYPG), Solana Staking ETF (GSOL), Sui Staking ETF (GSUI), XRP Trust ETF (GXRP), and Zcash ETF (ZCSH).
Odaily reports: Six blockchain organizations—Stellar Development Foundation, Hedera, Aptos Labs, Ava Labs, Cardano Foundation, and Chainlink Labs—have jointly submitted a comment letter to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), requesting that the definition of "Digital Commodity" and its non-security status be explicitly clarified in the main text of the proposed "Regulation Crypto Assets."It is understood that the SEC's regulatory interpretation released in March 2026 has established the classification of digital commodities, but the relevant definition currently appears only in the preamble of the proposed rules and has not yet been incorporated into the binding rule text. The organizations believe that formally codifying it into the rules would help reduce regulatory uncertainty and provide a more stable legal framework for public chain developers and ecosystem participants.

According to Newsfile, Zhibao Technology (NASDAQ: ZBAO) has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with multi-asset liquid restaking protocol Bedrock to jointly explore the following three areas: 1. On-chain stock tokenization: Exploring the native issuance of its SEC-registered Class A common shares on public blockchains at the transfer agent level as real-world asset (RWA) equity, while retaining full voting rights, dividend rights, and shareholder privileges; 2. Bitcoin treasury yield generation: Evaluating the partial deployment of the company's 2,380 BTC holdings into Bedrock's liquid restaking infrastructure (uniBTC), integrated with a Chainlink-compatible proof of reserves mechanism; 3. DeFi compliance integration: Developing a KYC/AML/sanctions screening framework to enable tokenized shares to interact with issuer-approved decentralized applications, achieving continuous 7×24-hour settlement. Additionally, Zhibao plans to leverage its AI-driven insurtech platform and reinsurance subsidiary to provide embedded insurance solutions for custody, smart contract, and oracle risks within the liquid restaking ecosystem. The framework agreement is currently non-binding, with a formal contract expected to be executed within the next 12 months. Final implementation remains contingent upon meeting compliance requirements from the US SEC, Nasdaq, and relevant Chinese regulatory authorities.

community member ugurmersin has proposed an alternative to Proposal 613, suggesting that custody of the Ecosystem Protection and Continuity Fund (EPCF) and mainnet Chainlink SVR revenue be transferred from the Safe controlled by the Compound Foundation to a Community Multisig, adopting a 9-party 5/9 multisig mechanism. The proposal does not advocate shutting down the EPCF, but rather preserving its purpose, size, 48-month term, and emergency fund deployment capability. As of October 8, the EPCF held 500,000 USDC and 4.5834 million USDC deposited in cUSDCv3, while mainnet Chainlink SVR revenue held 355.95 ETH. The proposal states that the original Proposal 613 had planned to shut down the EPCF and transfer the funds to the Governor Timelock, and was canceled by the Proposal Guardian on October 7.
Odaily News: Chainlink announced on September 28 the launch of a connectivity framework that allows banks to connect to the SWIFT blockchain ledger through the Chainlink platform while retaining transaction signing keys. The framework coordinates institutional systems' interactions with the ledger via the Chainlink runtime environment, and banks adopting the self-signing model do not need to hand over authorization keys to Chainlink. The SWIFT ledger supports 24/7 tokenized deposit payments, with final settlement still completed through existing mechanisms such as real-time gross settlement. Seventeen banks from six continents, including ANZ, HSBC, Citi, Standard Chartered, and UBS, are preparing to conduct tokenized deposit pilots on the SWIFT ledger.
Odaily News: Ethlabs stated that with the Ethereum fast confirmation rule, Chainlink's cross-chain protocol CCIP 2.0 can reduce Ethereum transaction confirmation time to 12 to 24 seconds. This acceleration is an optional setting that must be actively enabled, and its security guarantees differ from the default path; Ethereum's full finality guarantees and CCIP's default waiting time both remain unchanged.
Chainlink has officially launched version 2.0 of the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP 2.0). Building on the existing network of 16 independent validator nodes, the new version allows institutions and developers to add custom security checks during cross-chain asset and information transfers. It supports operating independent validators or integrating third-party service providers such as Infosys and Nethermind to reduce single-point-of-failure risks in cross-chain bridges.
Odaily News: Cross-chain protocol Chainlink has released CCIP 2.0, allowing enterprises to add their own security checks for cross-blockchain transfers on top of its default network of 16 operator validators. The upgrade comes after Kelp DAO suffered a $292 million hack in April, an incident attributed to a LayerZero cross-chain bridge setup using a single validator; Kelp DAO subsequently migrated its rsETH token to Chainlink.Chainlink's risk management network no longer operates as a standalone security safeguard, and users who do not add their own validators will rely on one validation network rather than two. Odaily reports: Several partnership plans previously announced by the Trump family's crypto project World Liberty Financial have yet to materialize, including having Aave support its lending market, using Ethena's stablecoin as collateral, and bringing tokenized U.S. Treasuries and equities onto the World Liberty platform through Ondo.According to Nansen and Arkham data, the "strategic token reserve" previously established by World Liberty has also undergone significant changes, with most of its holdings of LINK, AAVE, ENA, and MOVE subsequently transferred or disposed of, and some assets moved into centralized exchange accounts. Nansen analysis shows that after World Liberty's token purchases were detected on-chain, the relevant tokens typically rose 10% to 26% within a day, but most of those gains failed to hold.World Liberty stated that the company continuously adjusts its strategy based on market changes and business priorities, and emphasized that it has no connection to decision-making by the Trump administration.
