Sui Co-Founder Leases Factory to Mass-Produce Quantum-Safe Hardware Wallet Cards, Targeting Key Cost Below $10 Per Card

Odaily News: Kostas Chalkias, co-founder and chief cryptographer of Mysten Labs, the development company behind the Sui blockchain, stated that he has leased a dedicated factory at a secret location and plans to scale up production of quantum-safe hardware wallet cards for Sui. The project aims to keep the cost of a single quantum card key under $10, with NFC quantum signing expected to take 1 to 2 seconds. Chalkias noted that the project is being advanced in his personal time outside of work and may include funding to provide cards for users who cannot afford them. The initiative is partly driven by a recent incident involving Coldcard hardware wallets, though the vulnerability was not a quantum attack. Coldcard manufacturer Coinkite disclosed that a firmware vulnerability in Coldcard, traceable to a 2021 update, bypassed the hardware random number chip and generated keys using a predictable software process linked to device serial numbers. Attackers have been moving funds since July 30, with losses climbing to approximately 2,055 BTC, affecting over 7,700 addresses and nearing a value of $130 million. At the protocol level, Sui plans to integrate two quantum-resistant signature schemes approved by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), designed for everyday accounts and high-value Move vaults, respectively. Existing accounts can be rotated to quantum-safe keys based on their original recovery phrases, without needing to migrate to new wallets. (Bitcoin.com News)

Nvidia is developing a new Nemotron 4 open-source AI model

Nvidia is increasing its investment in open-source artificial intelligence models, aiming to further drive demand for its hardware ecosystem by building the world's leading open-source AI model series, Nemotron.According to sources familiar with the matter, Nvidia is developing a new generation of AI models called Nemotron 4, with the largest model targeting performance levels comparable to the world's top open-source AI models. The project is driven by Nvidia's internal team, as the company hopes to attract more developers and enterprises to use its GPUs, AI software platforms, and infrastructure through high-performance open-source models. In recent years, Nvidia has gradually expanded from purely providing AI computing hardware to building an AI software and model ecosystem. By releasing open-source models, the company can help developers build applications based on Nvidia's CUDA, GPU clusters, and related tools, thereby further strengthening hardware demand. However, Nvidia's self-developed AI models may also create new competitive dynamics. On one hand, open-source models can expand the influence of Nvidia's AI ecosystem; on the other hand, as its model capabilities improve, they may compete with AI models developed by some of its customers and partners.Analysts believe that as competition in the AI industry extends from "computing power competition" to "model, software, and ecosystem competition," Nvidia is attempting to replicate its ecosystem advantages in the GPU space, transforming its hardware leadership into broader influence across the AI platform landscape. NVIDIA Launches NeMo Switchyard, Using AI Model Routing Technology to Reduce Agent Operating Costs

Odaily News NVIDIA has launched an AI model routing system called NeMo Switchyard, designed to help developers dynamically allocate AI Agent tasks across multiple large models, reducing costs and latency while maintaining performance.NVIDIA stated that building AI agents does not necessarily mean relying on a single large model. Different models have their own advantages in reasoning capability, response speed, and operating costs. For example, classification tasks may be suited for lightweight models, while complex reasoning requires more powerful frontier models. If all requests are sent to the largest model, costs and latency will increase; conversely, using small models for everything may degrade the quality of complex task completion. NeMo Switchyard uses an intelligent routing mechanism to automatically select the most appropriate execution model among multiple specialized and frontier models based on factors such as task requirements, model capabilities, cost, latency, and system status. The system allows developers to switch between different model providers and model versions without changing the application architecture.NVIDIA explained that NeMo Switchyard offers multiple routing strategies, including a training-free LLM classifier router, Stage Router, Escalation Router, and an adjustable routing model trained on real workload data. Among these, the Escalation Router prioritizes assigning tasks to low-cost models and escalates requests to stronger models when it detects increased task complexity, persistent errors, or stalled execution, thereby achieving a balance between performance and cost.NVIDIA stated that in related tests, NeMo Switchyard significantly reduced AI Agent operating costs while maintaining a high task completion rate by distributing tasks across different models. For example, compared to using only frontier models, the escalation-based routing approach reduced costs by approximately 74% in LangChain multi-turn agent testing, with only 7% of requests requiring calls to frontier models.Additionally, NVIDIA has partnered with companies such as Cognition, Nous Research, Ramp, LangChain, LiteLLM, and Kong to integrate NeMo Switchyard into AI Agent development workflows and enterprise application infrastructure.

North Korea has stolen at least $2.8 billion in cryptocurrency between January 2024 and September 2025, laundering it through existing criminal networks

Odaily News: The North Korean regime stole at least $2.8 billion in crypto assets between January 2024 and September 2025, increasingly laundering them through established criminal networks. According to a report by the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), a UK-based defense and security think tank, the funds are believed to support its weapons programs. Stolen tokens frequently change ownership before being converted into cash, with third parties sometimes purchasing them at a discount or mixing them with proceeds from investment scams such as "pig butchering" schemes. Cashing out primarily relies on "money mules" recruited in the Philippines, Indonesia, and China, where stablecoins are typically split up and sold through peer-to-peer markets. After the Bybit hack, ZeroShadow found that TraderTraitor moved funds through over-the-counter (OTC) desks, peer-to-peer traders, and Chinese organized crime syndicates. Bybit has recovered $48.4 million and frozen $30.5 million in assets, accounting for roughly 5% of the stolen amount in total. (Decrypt)

According to Cryptopolitan, South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has launched a three-month fraud refund system reconstruction project with a budget of approximately 119 million Korean won. This upgrade aims to align with the revised "Telecommunications Fraud Damage Compensation Act" amended on March 31 this year—the bill will officially take effect on October 1, formally incorporating virtual assets into the scope of "damaged property" and "refundable property." The new system will support calculating compensation amounts based on token type and quantity, using the Korean won value at the time funds were frozen as a reference benchmark, while also possessing the ability to disentangle mixed fraud funds across multiple accounts. Major exchanges such as Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and GOPAX will be required to assume anti-fraud and victim relief obligations equivalent to those of banks at that time, including verifying transaction purposes, monitoring suspicious funds, and freezing suspected accounts.

Trump family-backed WLFI receives $100 million token investment, funds traced to Guren "Bobby" Zhou, a subject of a UK money laundering investigation

Odaily News: UAE-based foundation Aqua1 Foundation purchased $100 million worth of governance tokens from decentralized finance project World Liberty Financial (WLFI) on June 26, marking the largest single publicly disclosed purchase of the token to date. The funds trace back to Chinese businessman Guren "Bobby" Zhou, with up to $75 million flowing to entities linked to the Trump family and World Liberty Financial co-founder Zach Witkoff. WLFI tokens confer governance and voting rights and do not represent equity in the company. Zhou was arrested in the UK in March 2021 on suspicion of money laundering, with UK law enforcement investigations still ongoing as of late July 2026. Two of his long-time employees were indicted in September 2025, one of whom has pleaded guilty, with trial scheduled for 2028. Zhou has not yet been formally charged. Zhou met with Eric Trump in Dubai to discuss the investment and described it as participation in the "Trump family's crypto project." The source of the $100 million Aqua1 used to purchase WLFI remains unclear, and public information does not indicate any direct link between these specific funds and money laundering activities. 退市新规征求意见,全球芯片 LOF 跌停、白银 LOF 重挫

According to Cao Lu, a reporter from First Financial Daily, multiple high-premium LOFs corrected simultaneously during Monday's early trading session. The Global Chip LOF hit the limit down, with its premium rate still as high as 18%; the SDIC Silver LOF plummeted by over 8% at one point during the session, with its premium rate also breaking through 18%. The market volatility stemmed from the draft solicitation of opinions on new LOF delisting regulations jointly released by the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges last weekend, which clarified mandatory delisting scenarios for two types of products, directly targeting chronic issues such as long-existing high-premium speculative trading, liquidity drying up in mini-funds, and price manipulation susceptibility among exchange-traded LOFs. Representatives from Shanghai-based public funds stated that delisting expectations may directly dampen speculative sentiment in current high-premium QDII and commodity futures LOFs.

BIP-110 Fork Chain Stalls After Mining Only 2 Blocks, Now Over 80 Blocks Behind Bitcoin Mainnet

Odaily News: The BIP-110-supporting Bitcoin minority fork chain split at block height 961,632, and stalled after mining only 2 blocks in approximately 8 hours. It is now over 80 blocks behind the Bitcoin mainnet. The fork chain inherited Bitcoin's current difficulty, but only approximately 2.53% of recent blocks signaled support for BIP-110, far below the 55% activation threshold required to avoid a fork. Bitcoin only adjusts difficulty every 2,016 blocks, and based on current hash rate, it is estimated that this chain would need approximately 350 days to complete its next adjustment. BIP-110 proposes to temporarily prohibit the inscription of non-financial data such as images and text in Bitcoin transactions. Michael Saylor stated that approximately 99.85% of Bitcoin's hash power remains on the mainnet; since both chains accept identical transactions, transactions on the minority chain could potentially be replayed onto the Bitcoin mainnet.

Wells Fargo plans to launch tokenized deposits in fall 2026, initially supporting USD and GBP transactions

Odaily News: U.S. banking giant Wells Fargo plans to launch tokenized deposits for select corporate and commercial clients in fall 2026, initially supporting USD and GBP transactions, with plans to expand to more clients and currencies in 2027. Tokenized deposits remain bank liabilities but can enable continuous transfers, programmable payments, faster settlement, and transaction visibility via blockchain. Wells Fargo is not the only bank pursuing this initiative. JPMorgan has already expanded its blockchain-based payment services for institutional clients, and other major financial institutions are developing similar products and shared networks. Meanwhile, the circulation and transaction volume of stablecoins such as USDC continue to grow, and they are already used for settlement across crypto markets, payment networks, and tokenized finance platforms. Tokenized deposits allow funds to remain within the regulated banking system while supporting time-based transfers and condition-triggered payments. Stablecoins, on the other hand, already cover trading, remittance, cross-border payments, decentralized finance, and tokenized asset settlement. Enterprise adoption of both product types will also be influenced by accounting treatment, regulatory rules, and cross-network interoperability.
