US CFTC Chair to Advance Voluntary Federal Registration Regime for Crypto Trading Platforms

Mike Selig stated that the crypto market should enjoy the same protections that have been applied to the U.S. derivatives market for decades. While Congress has yet to act, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is advancing a voluntary federal registration regime for crypto trading platforms, bringing their regulatory standards closer to the high-standard regulatory system of U.S. financial markets.
