France Witnesses Another Attempted Crypto-Related Kidnapping; Wife of The Sandbox COO Attacked

Source: financefeeds.com
According to FinanceFeeds, an attempted kidnapping targeting the wife of Sebastien Borget—co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of The Sandbox—took place in Villeneuve-sur-Yonne, Seine-et-Marne, France. Five masked assailants disguised themselves as delivery personnel, broke into the residence, and attempted to forcibly drag her into a getaway vehicle; however, the attempt failed due to prompt intervention by nearby residents who responded to her cries for help. Subsequently, France’s Meaux Anti-Crime Brigade intercepted a ride-hailing vehicle and arrested two suspects found in possession of replica firearms, zip ties, and hoods. Both suspects were minors born between 2009 and 2010. According to statistics from France’s National Judicial Police Directorate, 41 attempted cryptocurrency-related kidnappings have been recorded in France this year—accounting for approximately 80% of such incidents across Europe. Authorities have classified the trend as a national security crisis and urged Web3 public figures to reduce their online visibility to safeguard their families’ safety.
