According to the CFTC's official website, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced on October 26 that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at safeguarding the integrity of professional basketball events in prediction markets. The two parties will engage in regular communication and enhance information sharing to discuss matters related to competition integrity, thereby preserving fairness and transparency in prediction markets. CFTC Chair Michael S. Selig stated that the NBA has taken responsible steps, following MLB and NHL, to protect sports integrity and market participants from abusive practices such as insider trading and fraud in prediction markets, and expressed his appreciation to NBA President Adam Silver for their cooperation on this initiative.
