AMC CEO calls Robinhood's stock tokenization practice "unacceptable" and has brought in securities lawyers to investigate.

AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron stated that Robinhood is clearly pushing a "tokenized real-world assets (including stock tokens)" initiative involving AMC Entertainment and allegedly more than 190 other companies, which have not been registered under U.S. securities laws, calling the move "disgraceful, outrageous, and disgusting." Aron emphasized that AMC has no connection to the matter and does not endorse it in any way, adding that the company will immediately engage external securities legal counsel for a review. According to Robinhood's filings, the stock tokens are not registered under U.S. securities laws and may not be offered, sold, or delivered within the United States or to U.S. persons, and remain restricted in jurisdictions including Canada, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
