According to PYMNTS, the new crypto tax in Illinois, US will take effect on January 1, 2027. Law firm Jones Day stated that any brokers with business exposure in Illinois should initiate registration preparations as soon as possible and review existing record-keeping processes to meet upcoming compliance requirements.
