According to reports from the Daily Economic News, Alibaba, Tencent, and ByteDance are negotiating long-term supply agreements for server DRAM with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Some clients are requesting to extend the supply term to 2035, reaching 10 years, which exceeds the usual three to five years. The related demand covers DDR for servers and low-power DDR (LPDDR). As major U.S. tech companies secure memory supplies in advance through long-term contracts, Chinese cloud service providers are also beginning to compete for server memory resources to accommodate AI business expansion and meet server energy efficiency requirements.
