Affected by the U.S.-Iran situation, Japanese and South Korean stock markets opened higher but closed lower on Friday. The Nikkei 225 Index closed up 196.57 points, or 0.28%, at 71,250.06—having fallen more than 0.5% intraday. The South Korean KOSPI Index closed down 14.81 points, or 0.16%, at 9,049.03—having fallen more than 3% intraday.
