Obama Responds to White House Correspondents’ Dinner Shooting: “Violence Has No Place in Democracy”

Former U.S. President Barack Obama posted a response this morning to the shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, stating that although the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, “everyone should reject the notion that violence has any place in our democracy.” He added, “It is also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice demonstrated daily by U.S. Secret Service agents.”
