Cardano Activates van Rossem Hard Fork

According to Cointelegraph, Cardano completed the van Rossem hard fork on Saturday, upgrading the mainnet to version 11. This upgrade is expected to reduce smart contract execution costs and lay the foundation for the subsequent Dijkstra era hard fork and Ouroboros Leios scaling upgrade. On-chain data shows that the network transitioned from protocol version 10 to version 11 at epoch 644. The report noted that this is also the first hard fork driven by the governance mechanism in Cardano's history.
