According to CoinDesk, Bitcoin-secured loans are gradually evolving into mainstream credit instruments. SALT Lending Chief Revenue Officer Hunter Albright stated that an increasing number of borrowers are using BTC as collateral to pay for tuition, cover emergency expenses, and supplement corporate cash flows, rather than solely for trading.
Ledn Co-founder and CEO Adam Reeds disclosed that since its establishment in 2018, the platform has cumulatively disbursed over $11 billion in loans, with projections to reach $1 trillion in the future. Borrowers generally prefer not to sell BTC, opting instead to leverage their holdings for liquidity.
