According to Bloomberg, informed sources revealed that the U.S. and Iran are discussing holding a new round of face-to-face negotiations, aiming to reach a longer-term ceasefire agreement before the two-week ceasefire deal announced on April 7 expires next week. Proposed options currently under discussion include returning to Islamabad or selecting another venue for the second round of talks, with Turkish and Egyptian officials also involved in mediation efforts. U.S. Vice President Vance stated that the negotiations have made significant progress but emphasized that “the ball is in Tehran’s court.” Meanwhile, Trump claimed that Iran had proactively contacted the U.S. side, expressing its desire to reach an agreement. Iran denied any intention to build nuclear weapons but insisted on its right to uranium enrichment, noting that differences could not be resolved in a single round of talks—leaving room for further dialogue.
