The Guangdong High People's Court recently announced the Top Ten Commercial and Financial Cases of Guangdong Courts in 2025, which includes a virtual currency lending dispute. In the case, after Jin lent one virtual currency unit to the borrower Chang, who failed to repay it by the due date, Jin filed a lawsuit demanding the return of the virtual currency and compensation for overdue losses, or alternatively, compensation calculated based on the conversion rate between the virtual currency and the RMB.
