According to CoinPost, SBI VC Trade announced on November 2 that the lending balance for its Japanese yen stablecoin JPYSC surpassed 10 billion yen as of that date, while the overall handled balance of JPYSC also exceeded 30 billion yen. The service launched in June 2026, with lending services added in July. The handled balance represents the sum of on-chain balances and lending balances, covering only the VCTRADE service and excluding BITPOINT. JPYSC is issued by SBI Shingun Trust Bank and is Japan's first trust-based Japanese yen stablecoin. Under the Funds Settlement Act, it is classified as an electronic payment instrument, and its legal status differs from that of crypto assets. Lending applications are currently accepted every Thursday, offering three plans: a 168-day term at a 3% annualized rate, an 84-day term at 2.5%, and a 28-day term at 2%. These conditions reflect data as of November 2 and may be adjusted based on subscription status and market conditions, or new subscriptions may be suspended. Early termination is generally not permitted during the lending period, and the funds are not covered by the deposit insurance system.
