According to Yonhap News Agency, Ethereum Institutional co-founder Matthew Dawson visited South Korea for the first time, holding meetings with major local institutions including banks, securities firms, asset management companies, and exchanges to establish collaborative partnerships. Dawson stated that South Korea possesses a robust financial sector and developer community with the capability to fully leverage blockchain infrastructure, and pointed out that the recent policy direction on tokenized securities issued by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) provides an optimal timing for cooperation. He anticipates that Korean institutions currently starting on private chains will ultimately upgrade to public blockchains, emphasizing that Ethereum’s security, liquidity, and neutrality make it the ideal infrastructure for hosting institutional core assets. Regarding organizational expansion, Ethereum Institutional plans to appoint an Asia regional head within six to seven weeks and will recruit technical, commercial, and consulting professionals across Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan.
