Apple's head of hardware engineering, John Ternus, formally took over the role on September 1, now leading Apple with a market value of approximately $4.67 trillion. Cook will transition to the role of Executive Chairman.Since taking over as CEO in 2011, Cook has led Apple's revenue from approximately $108 billion to $416 billion in 2025, with the company continuing to expand in scale.Upon assuming his new role, Ternus will face a series of challenges, including Apple Intelligence, Siri, and AI strategy. His first major test will be Apple's product launch event on September 9.
