US Government Plans to Issue AI Model Regulatory Standards

According to the Financial Times, the US government is consulting with multiple artificial intelligence companies and plans to launch voluntary industry standards for the release of frontier artificial intelligence models as early as next week, focusing on regulating model performance benchmarks, release timing, and domestic and international access permissions to reduce the risk of advanced technology being misused by other countries.
