Dune Announces Restructuring and 25% Layoffs, to Focus on AI and Institutional Onchain Adoption

Dune, the encrypted data platform, announced via a post by its founder hagaetc that it is undergoing organizational restructuring to focus more intently on core data products relied upon by cryptocurrency industry customers. This week, Dune reduced its team size by approximately 25%. The company stated that it will fully commit to two strategic directions going forward: AI and institutional onchain adoption. It noted that it has built an end-to-end infrastructure for crypto data—covering data ingestion, quality validation, storage, cleansing, standardization, and querying—and that, with Dune MCP, teams and agents can build dashboards and workflows without needing SQL or data infrastructure expertise. Dune also said that, in addition to serving leading crypto companies, it is now working with several cutting-edge financial institutions and will increase investment in the data layer and customized services.
