HKSCC: Multiple fraudulent websites discovered using virtual wallets to commit fraud

Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL) disclosed in an announcement that it recently discovered multiple counterfeit websites using the name "Buyer Online Security Protection" to deceive users into submitting personal information such as ID card numbers, ID card photos, and phone numbers for so-called "real-name authentication", offering cash rewards as an incentive, and conducting top-up and withdrawal operations through virtual wallets. Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited urges the public to be vigilant against suspicious phone calls, websites, or other communications, and to report to the police as soon as possible if they suspect they have been defrauded.
