According to CoinDesk, Anthropic has signed a $35 billion compute procurement agreement with Lambda, Nvidia's AI cloud subsidiary. Part of this compute capacity will be supplied through Hut 8's Beacon Point campus in Nueces County, Texas. Under the arrangement, Nvidia holds the lease for the facility, where Lambda will utilize Nvidia chips, while Anthropic purchases the corresponding compute.
Hut 8 has previously disclosed two 15-year leases for the campus, encompassing a combined 704 megawatts of IT capacity. The total contract value reaches $19.6 billion, and upon full operational deployment, the facility is projected to generate approximately $1.31 billion in annual revenue. Leveraging their existing large-scale power infrastructure and grid access capabilities, Bitcoin miners are increasingly becoming highly sought-after partners for AI companies. Publicly listed mining firms have collectively secured over $70 billion in AI and high-performance computing contracts to date.
