Bank of America: Semiconductor TAM Raised to $3.2 Trillion, Memory Drives Growth

According to TrendForce, a September 14, 2026 research report from Bank of America upgraded its total addressable market forecast for the semiconductor industry from $2.7 trillion to $3.2 trillion, raising the compound annual growth rate from 2026 to 2030 from 14% to 18%. Semiconductor sales are projected to increase 113% year-on-year in 2026, with memory chip sales rising approximately 327%, comprising DRAM at 328% and NAND at 341%. Expenditure on wafer fabrication equipment is forecast at $156 billion in 2026, $210 billion in 2027, and $272 billion in 2028. The rental price for Nvidia’s B200 GPU is approximately $5.72 per hour, less than 10% below the March peak.
