According to the <i>Nikkei</i>, SBI Group has received approval from Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) to launch “JPYSC,” a yen-pegged stablecoin, within this week—making it Japan’s first trust-based stablecoin. The stablecoin will be issued by SBI新生Trust Bank, traded by SBIVC Trade, and jointly developed with Singaporean fintech firm Startale Group. SBI Group plans to deeply integrate JPYSC into its suite of financial services—including securities, digital assets, and banking—to enhance user convenience.
