According to a case published by the Fusui County People's Court of Guangxi, in 2020, a couple surnamed Mo in their seventies were introduced by an acquaintance to participate in an overseas virtual currency mining machine wealth management project. They initially invested 4,200 yuan and successfully recovered their principal, before subsequently investing over 60,000 yuan. In December 2020, the involved platform was shut down, making fund withdrawals impossible. In early 2026, the couple sued the investment introducer and the actual operator, demanding the return of the entire investment amount plus interest.
