According to CoinDesk, Web3 domain company Unstoppable Domains and its five brand partners have abandoned their efforts to seek standard internet recognition from ICANN for 14 domain extensions, including .crypto, .wallet, .bitcoin, and .brave. ICANN charges a $227,000 evaluation fee for each new generic top-level domain application, with related base application costs set to exceed $2 million.
