ZachXBT: Suspected Stolen Funds Trigger Over $27M in New Suspicious CEX Withdrawals from European Institutions, Total Involved Funds Exceed $133M
According to an update from on-chain detective ZachXBT's investigation, another over $27 million in abnormal withdrawals from centralized exchanges (CEXs) have been found at the European institution previously suspected of being hacked, raising the total value of funds involved in the incident to over $133 million, with some withdrawals taking place after he first publicly disclosed the event. ZachXBT speculates that the victim may be a large financial institution in Western Europe that is currently concealing this security breach. He criticized the relevant institution for its failure to disclose the matter in a timely manner, resulting in over $30 million being transferred and laundered, and causing it to miss the opportunity to have the funds frozen by EU law enforcement. To date, the identity of the victimized institution and the actual losses have not been officially confirmed.
