The Monetary Authority of Macao held a seminar on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) with Chinese and Portuguese central banks; the Digital Macanese Pataca system will go live tomorrow.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the Monetary Authority of Macao held the “High-level Seminar on Central Bank Digital Currency Development and Cross-border Innovative Applications between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” on June 1. The seminar focused on cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries in cross-border applications of central bank digital currencies.
