According to Bloomberg, the South Korean government plans to inject 20 trillion won (approximately $13.9 billion) into the sovereign wealth fund Korea Investment Corporation (KIC), specifically for strategic investments in artificial intelligence, data centers, and infrastructure. This move marks the first time the fund has expanded its investment scope to domestic assets, against the backdrop of recent sharp declines in tech stocks. Funding sources include equity contributions from public institutions such as policy banks, with an initial scale of no less than 20 trillion won.
