In its Hot Chips 2026 press release, Intel confirmed that the next-generation Xeon server processor, "Diamond Rapids," will feature up to 256 brand-new cores. Diamond Rapids fully utilizes in-house developed technology, is built on the Intel 18A-P process node, and employs Foveros Direct 3D packaging alongside UCIe-S interconnects to support a server platform design with up to 256 cores. The official press release also confirms that this processor belongs to the next generation of the Xeon product line, with a maximum core count of 256.
