According to Decrypt, NIP Group, the parent company of the esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas, has acquired its third batch of Bitcoin mining machines through the issuance of over 247 million Class A ordinary shares as consideration. Following the transaction, the company’s total hash rate will reach approximately 13.85 EH/s, with expected monthly production of around 195 BTC. Valued at current market prices, this amounts to roughly $2.8 million, representing an increase of 35 coins over the previous monthly target of 160. CEO Hicham Chahine stated that the company strategically timed its entry into mining during a market cooldown, adding that the initiative has cleared a comprehensive internal review focused on boosting profit margins and achieving profitability. He further noted that should the AI and high-performance computing divisions continue to deliver superior returns compared to mining, the company may redirect a portion of its computing capacity toward AI infrastructure.
